holy hidden gem

Found this at the top of my random feed, saw that it was a platformer, and decided to give it a try. Absolutely loved it.

The movement mechanics are great. They're simple and easy to get the hang of, but they allow for more challenging levels since you can't control your dash length. The controls themselves are quite nice—I appreciate that dashing and jumping are bound to the same button—but having to hold the mouse button to move the camera feels weird. Maybe it'd be better if you could move the mouse to move the camera, hold space to freeze the camera and aim, and then release space to dash? Not 100% sure if this would be better or worse, but all I know is that the current camera controls feel a bit odd. But otherwise, this game controls great.

My main three further suggestions would be (1) having a restart button so you don't have to start from the beginning if you get softlocked on the ice, (2) making the entire top of the flower bouncy, not just the center, and (3) turning the mines into solid 3D objects so their hitbox is clearer. I'd also make the mines respawn when you die; the fact that they don't right now feels like an oversight.

On a different note, I loved the audio here! The sound effects are all really satisfying, and the weird, dynamic music fits the game perfectly. The jump sound especially is really satisfying. I think the visuals are too simplistic and incohesive though, even for the game's wackier vibe. Those pixel art mines look especially out of place.

But all in all, great stuff! It's criminal how few ratings this game has.
