It was a very fun and creative idea! I do think the game was a little too fast tho, the spinning made me dizzy sometimes haha, but other than that, cute spiders (never thought I would say spiders were cute!) and great game!

Very cute and interesting concept. I liked the visuals, only negative thing is that the controls were kinda hard to get used to at first. Good game!
They always seem to play hard to get, but once you have your dapper little hat, and bouquet of flowers, no spider can resist your charms! <3
Great job making this game! If there's someway to make the wall physics work without rotating the entire world would be cool though.
Such a nice and polished game for the jam really well done no complaints
Really charming concept, loved the intro narration and the little details like collecting flowers and the top hat. Controls are too jittery and hard at places to but the spider wall-climbing mechanic is a fun idea. Great work for a first jam! If you have time we would love if you could check our game!
This was a really charming game with a lot of heart. I loved the premise of trying to impress Scarlett, and the serious narration/voiceover at the start gave it so much personality. The spider art and animations were great too, and collecting things like flowers and the top hat was a really cute touch.
My main feedback is that the controls and camera could use some polish. The gravity/camera rotation felt pretty fast and disorienting at times, and the web swinging mechanic was a little hard to understand at first. Clearer control/objective prompts before each level would help a lot. Still, this was a unique and funny first jam game with a really cute concept. Great work!
Aww, thanks a lot for your comment and for your suggestions! We will improve the guide after the jam and also try to make it less dizzying and disorientating. We also have big plans with the web mechanics, we will see how it evolves. By the way, absolutely loved your game! (But already left a comment there as well :D)
Loved the serious narration at the beginning! The mechanics were unique and I needed some time to get used to them. I actually didn't realize I could swing from the web until after the 2nd level. I actually got stuck on the floating platform on the 3rd level, but I had fun!
I loveeeed the premise and the voiceover! The controls are a bit confusing, , though
Really good idea and concept! The controls were a little confusing, though. Maybe it would feel better if you could rotate the camera yourself instead of having it rotate automatically. Other than that, it's a great idea—and very romantic! :D
Woah this game has some really odd-feeling mechanics, the gravity shift spins the camera way too fast in my opinion and has me feeling almost motion sick at times.
An interesting idea for a game though, keep it up!
For some rason I can't shot the web, I will rate this game later when I figure out what I do wrong!
I like the pixel art for the spiders, didn't bother me particularly but I know pixel art enjoyers can care a lot about mixels (differently sized pixels), font choice was a bit hard to read, Camera rotated a bit fast for comfort, and I sometimes fell off a wall when walking in a straight line - could maybe add a bit more leeway before you fall off. I liked the sound effect when walking and the platforming with the spider silk was interesting. Gravity felt a bit heavy, felt like I fell really quickly which made doing tricks with the web shooting tricky to time. Great job for your first jam! Getting cameras right is surprisingly tricky, mine was worse on my first jam.
Thank you for your kind and detailed feedback! We are quite inexperienced in game development, so it's super useful to hear about mixels and unfortunate font choices, but it all makes sense. :) We will definitely have to work a lot more on the controls and the camera movement to make it more user friendly. Thank you for all your suggestions, we will try around with them. :)
The game was too hard to control because of the janky camera.... Still a good idea and a cool game
Loved the intro lol! the gravity switching mechanic was a bit janky, but still a very fun game with a lot of charm!
This was quite an interesting (in a way that i enjoyed) spin on the swinging/grapple mechanic
Tho i do have to say that the camera completely rotating everytime you climbed on a wall was trippy af xD
If you didnt wanna fall, you just had to tip toe your way around corners or you'd just fall of due to the speed
The web swing/spin mechanic was a cool idea but due to the zoomed in camera it was a bit hard to see where you were gonna stick to (IF anywhere) more often than not, Id just shoot the web based on where the platform would be after a jump based on intuition. So suggestion 1 would be to zoom out the camera atleast when you are spinning
Also, another thing, when you are spinning and jump off, it seems that you CAN keep the momentum of the swing (even if a little) but due to the camera rotating, it can just lead to you pressing the key of the opposite direction and cancel all that momentum.. Like say you are swingng and let go of the web line when you are upside down.. Suddenly the camera rushes to reset the orientation and so the right left arrow key u held while upsidedown to go right now takes you to the left (if that makes any sense xD)
I like the mechanic, but i feel it can be polished a bit
Other than that, I always appreciate voice acting/narration in jam games lmaoo And you guys did great with that!
I loved the different stuff we got to collect in order to impress scarlett, tho
I just tried it again to see what would happen if i didnt collect the stuff and went to scarlett.. Turns out she only appears once you get the stuff haha
Oh btw, spider art and anims were GREAT! I saw u guys used other assets and while im not at all against it and do it myself.. But it seems there was quite alot of visual difference between the assets you guys used.. Like each level looked completely different with no consistent visual style.. While im not great with that stuff either i did notice that :P
Overall the game was reallly good, it has its problems but i liked the way you implemented swinging and spinning.. The controls were a bit wonky but nothing you cant fix in a post jam update ig. I really appreciate the voice narration for the story and ngl i wish it was present at the end of each level. Speaking of levels i wish there were MORE levels. It felt like the game ended right after i got the mechanics a bit under control. (Do keep in mind, players wanting more is a good thing :))
Also saw this was you guys first game jam, so congrats on finishing it and getting such a great ready right in your first jam! Keep it up guys!
Haha, thanks a lot for this super detailed feedback! :)) We can definitely learn a lot from your comments and make the moving and swinging experience a bit less trippy 😂 Especially as some of your suggestions sound quite easy to implement with a big benefit. :))
On the narration side, we actually wanted to add proper cut scenes between all levels, just ran out of time. Maybe we can add them after the jam. 🤔
Thank you for coming by and for your kind comment! :)
