Congrats for being in the top 50 overall games!:DDD
Thank you so much!! This jam was so much fun, I hope Juniper hosts another one next year! Congrats on your score as well!!
Juicy game with great mechanics!
I see the effort you've put into the movement, does not feel rigid whatsoever. Great job on the game!
Thank you!!
The ballerina spins to win. Pretty clear on the concept and fits the theme very well. Your username reflects the game, loved the whimsy spirit this game has! This game is giving John Wick during pride month. I think I would've liked the movement to not be as floaty a little bit? It felt like the player was constantly on ice. Maybe make it a little bit less that, and maaaybe add a dashing mechanic where the player performs other dance moves(jumping over/spinning faster etc.) Solid visuals and fun gameplay, great job overall!
Thank you so much!! Hearing that the game is whimsical is a huge compliment!! The movement being floaty is a fair criticism, I made it that way on purpose because it felt more realistic to how the ballerina would move around, but I definitely agree that it doesn't work well from a game perspective. Also the dashing mechanic and other dance moves were actually originally planned!! I had to cut them from the game due to time constraints, though. Thank you so much for the feedback!!
Bulletrina is some kind of a bullet hell and incremental game tacked with the spin mechanic for shooting as u move.
I honestly enjoyed it and the spin... I am just abit on the fence about the spin theme and how it is tacked on because it's essentially a 2D bullet hell.
Beyond that, I don't have any complaints.
Hi, thanks for the feedback!! Great to hear that you enjoyed the game! I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean in your complaint? The game is in fact a bullet hell, and the spinning is a game mechanic tied to it. You have to keep spinning in order to keep your health up (and therefore win) and if you stop spinning, you begin losing your health.
Could you please clarify your criticism? Are you saying the game can't have spinning and be a bullet hell at the same time?
I feel in essence the spin to win mechanic or interpretation wasn't creative enough or fitting to the game in this case or the overall theme.
It felt abit strange or not so cohesive although the idea of a shooting spinning ballerina is meant to be outrageous . I think doing away with the whole ballerina theme and just putting Lara croft spinning or a male agent might be more fitting to theme and seriousness.
That outlandishness in this case is abit forced on
I understand.
The main mechanic was really unique, the visuals and music were well made, and I overall enjoyed playing!
That's awesome to hear!! Thank you for playing!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the music!
Deceptively more complex than one would think. Over time one learns what direction they should move in to get the gun to point in the right direction. I like it a lot and also love the CRT/old detective movie vibes. Music and polish are done really well and game works well. Theme is on point too.
Only issue is game lags hard on full screen for me, that is probably just a browser or me thing and has nothing to do with the gameplay. This made the game really hard to play though as even zooming in on the browser messed up my FPS.
Great job!
Thank you!! Great to hear you liked the learning curve! Also super happy you liked the vibes and the music, we had a lot of fun making it!!
I'm sorry to hear the game lagged for you. It seems to be a browser-specific issue, I think a lot of the shaders and other VFX contribute to the lag. The desktop version should work better though!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely look into better web optimization for my future games!!
I'm glad you liked the music! :D
It's really fun to spin around :D
Glad to hear it!!
Very fun! Has a good game feel too!
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed playing!
Holy smokes, i get imposter syndrome after 30 secs!
So great, so nicely polished, the style is super consistent and charming.
Ehm... and after all that, you still had the time to make funny and cute tutorial video for YouTube?
Did you even sleep like at all? :D
Congratulations! 5/5 for me ;-)
Glad to hear you liked it!!
Actually, the video wasn't made for YouTube, it played within the game itself when you started your first run, however it broke when I exported the game and so I had to remove it and host it on YouTube instead lmao.
And also no, I didn't get much sleep xD
Happy to hear you had a good time!! Thanks for the feedback!
This is such an awesome game! I love the visual choice here and theme surrounding it is so peak. I do think that trying to hit the opponents while I spin can be a bit frustrating if they are very close by but I think its mostly just a skill issue in my part. Highly creative take, superrr polished visuals and audio and I would say its also pretty serious! Overall, really great work, I enjoyed this one!
Thank you!! Happy to hear you like the art and theme!
Actually, I do know what you mean regarding not being able to hit enemies up close and it's NOT a skill issue! I came across this bug while playing the game myself, and if the enemy is too close to you, your bullets won't register hits. So it's actually a skill issue on my end lmao.
And of course the game is serious, it is theatre after all...
Thanks for playing!
I LOVE THIS!!!
This game is so much fun! moving around is smooth and having you slowly take damage if you don't move is a really clever way of forcing the player to keep spinning!
Brilliant, no notes! One of my favorite entries so far!
Thank you so much!! It makes me super happy that it's amongst your favourite entries!
Really enjoyed this one: visuals were stylish, narration was absolute cinema (no pun intended), gameplay was enjoyable and fast-paced which fits the jazzy music that really slaps. Movement was slippery which is fine compared to how hard it was to aim for enemies so I had to get that upgrade for melee damage. Combat-wise this is my second favourite in the jam for now, and the aesthetics are genuinely impressive. Had to download it 'cause it lagged a bit in browser but it works perfectly fine on my machine (you even bothered to get a fully working MacOS app which is not common).
Great job overall 👍.
Thank you!! Super glad you liked the visuals and my voice! I'm trying to VA in some things when I have the time, and I love doing it for my games!! It makes me very happy to hear that the combat placed this game up in your favourites.
Regarding the browser version lagging, I think that might be a problem with the browser itself and not the game, since it works fine for me.
Also I'm relieved to know that the Mac version works!! I have no way to test it so this is super valuable information for me!
Really glad you had fun! Thanks so much for the feedback!!
Thank you for the kind words about the music! <3
