really satisfying yet ragebaity gameplay, very fun
Beautiful pixel art and nice sounds!
Me like frog. Me like funny pictures. Me like video games. Aha! Me love Frogg!!! But actually, the art was super fun and the gameplay was making me cry ever now and then... I'm just bad at hard games I guess. Keep up the good work!
I like the pixel art, The idea of ragebaitting the player, the controls are satisfying to, great j*b.
Somebody cooked here! Since I enjoy hard games and frogs this was so fun to play, I loved the art and spinning your tongue to keep yourself a little bit more in the air. Good job!
I like the jump and fly mechanics but rage games that can kick you back to the start are not my game. Great art and animations for the frog and the enemies. KEEP MAKING GAMES!
Great inspiration from Jump King (I assume?)! I don't really like these kind of hard games where you very easily lose everything but I think I was doing very well and really wanted to see the end of the game.
I really wanted to finish it but as I got pretty far in the moving platforms something hit me and teleported me to the very start of the level for what I can tell was no reason ? (there wasn't any animations like I was hitting stuff, it's almost like everything lost collision and was letting me fall through). This happened twice :( having a camera that let me see what was under the player would've been useful, I kept failing the moving platform jumps simply because I didn't know where it was and I couldn't see it by the time I got above it. Either a camera that let you see more of the level or a static one like in Jump King would've solved this problem. If it was intentional and I was just supposed to track exactly where the platform was moving uhhhh okay :'o a little too difficult for me in that case and skill issue. I also had some lag spikes here and there that got me to fall down @_@
The artstyle and animations really got me invested in the game ! It's very pretty and I wish I could've seen more of it but I was too locked in the platforms themselves to really admire the birds for example (they looked very pretty!). Very polished and great game in under a week, impressive for your first game too! Congrats and good job :D
Really nice visuals and idea, love that there's a story behind it too! It's quite difficult tbh, but still very enjoyable :)
The art was honestly so pleasant to look at, and the whole atmosphere in the well was cool.
I sadly could not get very far due to the controls being pretty hard to learn with so much happening around me from the beginning already. I did like all the animations though :)
Great game. Was getting some lag spikes, probably due to shaders and particle effects loading in for the first time ,a common problem with Godot. My solution was always to load them once when the game starts.
Thanks for playing my game! Also yeah I did try loading in my shaders onto a dummy object in the beginning, but I didnt find out till later that loading scenes apparently resets the cache essentially. I wanted to try and load the shaders during the loading screen right after the cutscene, but didnt have time to do it before bug fix deadline. Thanks again! I appreciate you
Even though I've never played it, this game reminds me of Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. I tried so hard to meet my love, but alas, I could not get past the sharp spikes at the beginning of the level. Skill issue on my part. I love the art style and the animal animations, especially Froggert's idle when he blinks out of sync and when he eats the fly buzzing around him. Very neat touch! The intro cutscene with the letter was also very well done!
Thank you very much! Frogs unite :D I appreciate you stopping by and playing my game <3
That was pretty good! Remimded me of doodle jump mixed with pogostuck!
It was pretty hard to control but that's part of the fun of course, and the art was absolutely stunning! gg
I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for playing my game! I'll pop by and give yours a play when Im home
eyy we have the same sprite! :3
eyyy lesgo
Play by play of froggert! I will just write thoughts as I play.
Loved this! Good game. Very rage game. Good aesthetics. Neat sounds. Love the synth. Full marks! Even the helicopter spin to win was good.
thank you so much!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your play by play. Yes that is a SpongeBob reference haha.
I've gotten some feedback about the difficulty and if I had a chance, I would make the beginning level empty of enemies and probably put a fly there to help introduce the player to the mechanic early, rather than throw it at them in a tense situation.
Again, I really appreciate you! Thank you for playing my game <3
P.s: I will be playing your game as well once I am free today
Something like that could be good! Or maybe just some more checkpoints or flat bits. Having to redo the entire level is what made me drop it in the end. Like- if this was a normal game and I bought it, I would accept it. But because it's a Jam game I kind of want to be able to make it through? Does that make sense?
absolutely haha by the time I was playtesting I realized I needed more failsafes and less punishing areas but I was out of time to fix it and still do everything else
I wasn't sure what to expect after the cut scene-- I liked the use of that little hand on the stick to explain. Once you load into the level, the graphics are really good. The character sprites and animations especially. The climbing/progression mechanic is a tough genre to master, but you got the style down right.
Would have been neat if the first level was very easy, with no enemies.. so you could jump around a little more freely with less challenge-- before getting put up against spikes and enemies!
I appreciate the review! Once you mentioned it I realized I really shouldve just removed those two enemies and let the player explore their controls and the physics. I wont do it now because I dont want to add or remove content after the submission unless its bug related, but something I'll keep in mind for the future. Thanks for playing my game <3
I like it! There are some lag spikes when hitting the enemies sometimes and especially when starting, but other than that, it's great!
I appreciate it! Yeah its a problem Ive been trying to solve since the last day of the jam. I think I might have solved it with the last hotfix I pushed out, but its hard to tell because its not a reliable issue that appears everytime. Thanks for playing my game! <3
Cool
Thanks for playing my game! <3
