it was scary. not scary enough
This is amazing! I love the atmosphere and the graphics is also really nice. You did a fantastic job at capturing that dark forest atmosphere! Awesome entry!
Great game! the spinning the flashlight mechanic was very cool for the theme of the game jam.
Very spooky!!

Very spooky!!
Nice game! I was really creeped out when I heard the monster for the first time! I submitted a horror game too so it's great to see what other people did too! I'm also glad to be the 99th person to rate this game lol!
Awesome horror game, and you put the spin mechanic in expertly too. The ambience and sound was really good as well. I found a bug where the monkeys just cannot get you lol. I was just standing in place and bro did not find me. Other than that, well done game!
As far as horror games go this one is excellently done. Great tension, the right amount of being stalked by the monkies and being surprised. The directional audio was very good and the atmosphere was perfect.
Top marks from me across the board. Highly recommendable to anyone.
It took me two tries to win, although almost won on the first try. Perfect length for a jam game and in the 2nd run since I knew what I was doing better it went quicker.
Only downside is the font is a little hard to read.
I AM TERRIFIED OF HORROR GAMES!!!! But I still managed to get through and beat this, so I think that's a great sign! Good job with the sound design as well, not having superloud jumpscares is always a big plus for me. Very clever to use the 3 monkeys with different mechanics as well, would be nice to have the mechanice explained in game in the future maybe?
The atmosphere in this game was perfect, it definitely instilled the feeling that you didn't belong and helped with the horror aspect of the game. The aesthetic worked perfectly and the torch mechanic really fit well with the theme as well as the gameplay.
My main issue with the game was the bug where if you made any noise every you could never go back to being silent, so the blind monkey would just destroy you, I feel like the only way to win the game is to never once make noise but then either the other monkeys kill you or its an incredibly boring run.
I feel like once the sound bug is fixed this game will be really good, and you have an amazing starting point for a really good atmospheric horror game. Well done!!
Awesome atmosphere, very spooky. The aesthetic works well for this kind of game and I didn't mind the torch mechanic because it added to the fear. Sound is also used very well, especially for prompting about which enemy is chasing you.
My only issue is balancing really, the game seems basically impossible if the blind monkey decides to just exist near a key, there's no way to progress from there without restarting. Some way of shaking him off from chasing you or having him roam more would be very welcome. There were also a few cases where I just couldn't "stop" making noise, despite being completely still and doing nothing.
It's a really good start at a horror game though, you got the atmosphere down which is the main step.
This game is so well made! The visuals, sounds, and overall vibe are really captivating, and seriously spooky!! Awesome work :)
The atmosphere in this is genuinely unsettling coupled with the sound design and visuals (they also work together really well to build tension). Having to crank the flashlight while trying not to get caught is such a stressful mechanic in the best way. Really impressive work for a jam game, great job! If you have time we would love if you could check our game!
