Extremely well made game, and it was super fun. You guys should be really proud. :D
The mechanics were really unique and really fun to play around with, the movement is also incredibly smooth and the visuals are great. The UI is really well-made as well and it really shows how much time and effort was put into the game. Great job!!
Hey, thanks for playing our game! We appreciate your support!
Really cute game honestly, I love the art style and I was really impressed with the parry mechanic! Super fun to use
Hey, thanks so much for playing our game!
Is there any reason not to run through all levels as fast as possible besides the score? It is fine I still had fun but I feel a little bad for fighting almost nothing.
Hey, thanks for playing our game! We did introduce the score system to encourage combat, however the enemies are mainly there just to stop you from reaching the end of the stage, and since it's a game focused around using the mechanics to your advantage, you can just dig and dodge your way to victory.
It turned out to be quite an interesting game, I like the characters and game mechanics (perhaps partly because in my game, in fact, you also need to destroy blocks with clicks)!
Hey, thanks for playing! I'll go check out your game right now!
this game is so nice the graphic and mechanic even the sound but I just suck couldn't even beat the level 5
Hey thanks for the kind words! I didn't expect that people would find the game hard, but that's probably because I had to play the game non-stop for a week straight haha. I'll go check out your game right now, it looks really promising!
Could spend HOURS on this, deff gotta come back for that boss!! Thanks for hanging with us in the livestream!! Well done with everything super polished!!! would like your rating and comment for my game too, thanks!
Hey thanks for playing our game! Unfortunately I couldn't catch the stream, but my team members did and they had a great time! I'm checking out the VOD right now, and I just subscribed. I will certainly check your game out right now!
IT'S AWESOME! DUDES, KEEP GOING! EVERYTHING IS JUST GREAT!
Thanks so much!
I LOVE THE GAME MECHANICS! VISUALS! AND SOUND EFFECTS!!! This is so much fun to play but I suck lol, has a lot of potential and fun to play, it is pretty on the corrption and fantasy theme however its not that scary on the horror side, PEAK game tho
Ps. I had fun beating the ants, and theres a lot of freezing whenever I use the bomb, drill, or even opening the chest. Still needs a lot of optimization
Hey, thanks for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed the mechanics and visuals! Try installing the .exe if you are on windows, as it should run much better than the web version. Once again, thanks for playing! 😁😁
Hello everyone, Thank you for your encouraging words and for playing our game!
After a long day of work, our final update has launched! We fixed many bugs and took in all the feedback you guys have given previously. We have also added a tutorial and a revamped boss fight! Have fun everyone, and I wish you all a successful jam!
This is a really cool game
Thank you for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey our new update has dropped! Feel free to give it another go!
I will thank
Awesome little game, great job guys! It needs some polish, but the concept is really fun. Adding more unbreakable tiles or something could maybe help give more structure to the levels, and help players understand exactly what the goal is. Lots of potential here, though!
Thank you for your feedback! Our game is still in late development stages, so I hope you can check it out once again once it's fully complete!
Hello,
We have added out final update and the game is out of development!
-camera revamped and map design!
-better tutorial!
-revamped boss!
hopefully you can give it one more go and give us a better, revised rating!
This game looks like it has great potential! The base mechanic was really cool, but i feel like the implementation could use some more work. It was a bit unclear what the goal was and i found myself getting stuck between tiles a lot. All in all great game!!
Hello, thank you for your feedback, we just made a large push with lots of bug fixes, so hopefully you can check it out again!
Hello, after a long day of work and bug fixes I can happily tell you that
-polish is improved
-camera is improved to help reveal the goal
-unstuck feature is added to unstuck you after 3 seconds
-boss fight has been revamped
-high score and combos!
hopefully you can check it out once more and give a revised rating!
Thanks for the feedback!
It looks like a game that could be developed into something truly interesting, but right now it feels way too unfinished and buggy. Very often it’s completely unclear where you’re supposed to dig. Enemies don’t get stunned when you hit them with the shovel, so they just run straight at you and you take damage without being able to do anything except click the left mouse button harder. Sometimes I couldn’t walk through a dug-out passage, as if the sprite was gone but the collision remained. Sometimes I couldn’t dig out a block for like 10 clicks until I found (what felt like the one single) pixel that would actually break the block when clicked. The main menu is just a mess: in windowed mode, it doesn’t fit within the window size; in fullscreen mode, it gets shoved off somewhere into the top-left corner. The game also just dumps a ton of mechanics on you without explaining how to use any of them at all. I feel like the developers bit off more than they could chew. Less content, but more polished, would have been better.
And a small note on the graphics: on a 240 Hz monitor, the player sprite gets blurry during movement. I’ve run into a similar issue before — I think it’s caused by camera movement smoothing. Though I can’t suggest a proper fix, unfortunately.
Alright thanks, I have noted the issue, thank you so much for your insightful feedback it is much appreciated. Hopefully you can give us a revised rating after our new update!
Hey, we just made a push with lots of bug fixes, I hope you can check it out again, Thank you.
Overall, it’s gotten better. Especially the menu, which now works without any complaints. But there are still plenty of things that could be improved:
In the tutorial, the jump button for some reason also acts as the confirm button for reading text, so you literally lose the ability to jump if you want to read the hint.
The last hint in the tutorial goes off the edge of the screen.
The camera has become too zoomed in, and you constantly bump into enemies that jump out from beyond the screen edge, like a blind mole. Although it did zoom out during the boss scene.
The mushroom thrower is broken and freezes in the throwing animation after attacking.
If I have a non-English keyboard layout active, the game doesn’t register key presses like WASD.
I just got stuck after digging a hole beneath myself in the shape of a downward-facing Tetrimino T.
There’s some pixel bleeding in places, for example on the candles.
From time to time, I lost the ability to attack enemies.
The ants are still guaranteed damage if you have nowhere to retreat.
When the boss “appears,” the camera animation doesn’t start from its current position, but from somewhere noticeably to the right.
The boss fight tactic is unclear. The only thing I could come up with was opening chests hoping to get a drill that I could launch at the boss. But it takes forever, it’s random, and it doesn’t feel remotely fair to the player.
Hey, thanks for giving our game another shot.
We have already fixed the camera error, and the tutorial is still semi-incomplete🥲
Thank your for the further feedback you're honestly the best play tester. I will get to work on fixing each bug, hopefully the game will become more polished! I am looking to convert the game into a mobile game anyways so I wouldn't mind working on it further. Thank you for your feedback once again, it is honestly so helpful, and hopefully, you can guide us for future updates!
Thank you,
Holy Moly devs
Hello,
We have patched every bug mentioned after a long day of work.
-the cameras are adjusted to improve visibility
-goblin animations are fixed
-an anti stuck protocol is implemented to unstuck you after 3 seconds
-pixel bleeding is fixed by editing the tileset
-ants and beetles and slimes can only damage you once per contact
-beetles have cool down on their turn so they don't tweak
-boss camera is fixed, AND a cutscene was added with dialogue
-boss was added into the field book, giving you strategies. More chests have been added that grants drills.
Thank you for your feedback! Hopefully you can give it one more go, and give a final rating!
I finished the game, and it was actually quite fun. There are still issues, but they’re no longer critical and don’t get in the way of enjoying the gameplay. The chests during the boss fight were especially pleasing — they no longer dropped bombs, as if tempting you to just end it all by blowing yourself up.
Issues I noticed:
Once again thanks for your time! I will fix these minor issues (maybe except the collision one because I think it's funny). My team and I are pretty tired so look forwards to an update tomorrow.
Hey the final update has been added! Thank you for all the guidance, I would almost add you in the credits haha 😁
nice mechanics
Thank you for playing our game!
Hey our new update has dropped! Feel free to give it another go!
