This game is an incredible showcase of your technical ability. 🌟

As someone who has also experimented with using AI to create game assets, I know one of the biggest challenges is maintaining consistency. Creating characters that look natural from the left, and right while keeping every animation smooth is much harder than it seems. Yet your game manages to do exactly that. The animations feel fluid, the artwork stays remarkably consistent, and I never got the impression that different AI-generated assets had simply been stitched together. Everything feels cohesive, which is genuinely impressive. 👏

Because of that, I honestly think this is one of the technically strongest projects in the entire Game Jam.

I also really enjoyed the classic side-scrolling arcade style. It captures the feeling of traditional action games while adding a substantial amount of story content. The overall level of polish is very high, and there's an impressive amount of variety throughout the experience.

In fact, I feel like I could easily spend an hour exploring everything the game has to offer and still not see it all. There's simply a lot of content packed into this project.

What impressed me the most, though, wasn't just the amount of content—it was how well you controlled the creative process. Rather than letting AI do all the work, it felt like AI was your co-pilot while you remained firmly in control of the final vision. That level of direction and consistency really stood out to me. 🚀

I did encounter one bug that unfortunately affected my progression. If an enemy moved outside of my visible area, I was no longer able to attack it, which meant I couldn't continue the level and had to restart the game. That was a little disappointing, but I also understand that this is the kind of issue that's completely understandable during a Game Jam.

Even with that bug, I was impressed by the diversity of the environments, the amount of storytelling, and how clearly the narrative connects with this jam's theme. It's a challenging game with a lot of depth, and I genuinely believe it demonstrates both outstanding technical execution and enormous development potential.

Fantastic work—I can't wait to see where you take this project next! 🎮👏

Thank you so much for your very detailed review. As fellow creators,

we both know all too well

just how challenging image generation and creating variations can be!

Achieving a sense of cohesion among the assets was exactly what I aimed for most with this project.

Since this is a recreation and adaptation of a nostalgic game

with a retro vibe for the Game Jam,

I’m glad you were able to sense that.

You can fight from a certain distance even off-screen, but it seems attacks become ineffective if you’re too far away.

However, if you lure the enemy back in, you can resume the battle…

I’ll need to fix this after the event!

Although this was created for the game jam,

I built it solidly with future developments in mind,

so there might even be additional stages down the road!

Maybe it's a problem with my PC... Pressing the space bar just made the browser scroll down the page, and the Enter key didn't respond at all, so I couldn't get past the opening demo.

I'd seen the screenshots and was really curious about the game, so I tried everything I could—hitting all sorts of keys on the keyboard and clicking the mouse frantically—but no matter what I did, I still couldn't get past the opening demo.

What a bummer... 😞

Thank you for the report!

I’ve been experiencing the same issue, and the keys start working after I refresh the screen and reopen it a second time.

Since a friend of mine seems to be able to play,

this method should work for you too!

(Unfortunately, the 72-hour update deadline has passed, so this will be addressed after the jam.)

Actually, after that, I really wanted to play this game, so I accessed the game objects directly and played this game. I had a great time. Honestly, it was fun.

It's possible that you've configured the settings incorrectly—such as having WebGL share input focus with the page when the game is exported—or that the issue might be resolved by adjusting settings on itch.io, such as “Enable scrollbars” or the “Fullscreen” button. Anyway…

"Essential Bug Fixes" and "Adding New Platform Builds" are permitted.

…I think this falls under the "Essential Bug Fixes" mentioned there, so if possible, fixing it quickly might result in everyone being able to enjoy the game. 🙂

Thanks for the advice!

I fixed the key inputs without adding any new game content.

I think it should be fixed now?

It works on my end, anyway—I hope everyone enjoys it!

Yes! I just confirmed it. Just by pressing the space bar, the game started up without any issues, and I was able to play it.

It reminds me of when I was a kid, clutching a coin in front of a candy store, standing in front of that one arcade machine everyone would crowd around. It's the kind of game that feels like it's right at home there. I mean that in a good way — it has that kind of charm.

I hope this bring some "FUN" to as many people as possible during the rest of the evaluation period! 🙂
