Hello! Checked your devlog a bit. I like the idea of your game, I hope you will manage to create it, using Unity seems really difficult, and the idea of developing a 3D game instead of a 2D one alone seems really intimidating to me... Especially if you still plan to do 3 different characters. So I'm impressed by your perseverance! Have you thought about finding teamates in the jams you are participating to? Maybe it could help with some of your struggles. But maybe you prefer going at your own pace too. Either way, good luck and have fun!

Hi Belillart, thank you so much for reading! Yes, I am still planning to do the 3 characters :)

I took a bit of a break from it this week, I was getting really burned out and got behind with quite a few things in life as I think it was the 3rd jam in a row I did!! :D I do know quite a few people I could possibly team up with for jams, but I worry being so busy and going at a slower pace would be holding them back. I was thinking of getting this prototype working with e.g. Mixamo models, level blockouts etc. and then later if someone wants to, we could go back in and update the art. How's Mindfarer going? I'm going to make sure I am following as I need to come back to it!

I enjoyed the devlog... but let's see a build.

Thank you -- Maybe that can be my aim for the next jam! I mean, I can upload one, but without gameplay its not going to be worth anyone's time downloading it, they might think I am trolling them!! :)

Congratulations on making progress!

I've been working on making my 3D character movement (in Godot) for a while as well...
Far from being happy with.

Here are my results:

Now I am working on a rigidbody character:

I gave up on mixamo animations. I wanted to keep the camera attached to the character's bones. That way you get a interesting shaking effect. Mixamo animations have a weird trembling making the camera shake too much and I wanna avoid blender. When I open blender is like all time is getting sucked into a black hole...

I tried using boolean modifiers to make my 3d worlds. It a bit simpler... but still painful XD.

Good job again and keep it going! Never give up !

Thanks, I was not sure whether to bother submitting, due to how early on in development, your comment lifted my sprits :) I played Hasten Alpha - I'm admittedly not much of a platform player, so couldn't even finish the first level haha  (that's a me, not you problem) but I thought the character movement and animations looked great! Thanks for the heads up about the mixamo shaking issue - next time I decide to use a camera set up like that, I'll try to remember! I know exactly what you mean about Blender though. Back at ya - keep going!

Haha, I guess i'll need to decrease the complexity on the first levels a bit, you are not the only one that failed to complete them.
Thank you for playing!

I don't know - I don't think it was (for me) the level design - it's just that I always jump too early or late - I do the same in most platformers!!
