I'm Impressed...
My Thoughts...
- Add a way to sort items by power levels
- I suggest giving the player a clear visual goal, like a map you can use between cabins.
- Early game enemies don't do enough to teach the player about late game; I began to enjoy the difficulty; you did hit a sweet spot mid game. However, encounters taught me nothing about how to use items in the late game, and I felt overwhelmed when I reached the village of humans.
Well done!
Everything about this game is great, but attacking enemies... the mouse aim doesn't work for the gameplay... i resorted to just running past every enemy and didn't bother attacking at all... Also, you need to teach the player how to attack... but it may not even matter because when i finally figured out how to attack, I just didn't want to use it.
Nice game... My Thoughts... It took way too long to load on my pc which is not a terrible PC but not great either. Font: hard to read Ui needs some work... The game is fun; I think there is something here, but the resource gathering was boring... maybe add some units you can deploy to handle that automatically...
I like the idea... Fun and easy to understand; the 3D position is kind of disorienting and makes it difficult to discern where my character is. This results in me feeling cheated when I die. You need music and sound effects. A techno soundtrack would be awesome, and BFXR sound effects would do nice too... Great work.
Proof? I don't strictly police entries... You have to want to improve your game. If you are trying to trick the system, then you've missed the whole point of the jam. Everything is designed to keep yourself accountable. Our Community helps with pointing out issues you may have missed and provides genuine feedback that may or may not be helpful. Any small improvement is enough. UI, Sound, Gameplay, etc...
Video devlogs unrelated to your submitted entry are not permitted. You can use the video devlog format, but if it's totally unrelated, it will be disqualified.
"This includes any link that doesn't outline the improvements to your entry."
such as social media feeds, video devlog, dynamic webpages, and/or any broken links.
I'll try to reword it so it is much clearer.
There are no restrictions on the type of games you can enter in our jam, however, it is difficult to get users to test your physical games... If you can manage to get members of the community on Discord to assist with the evaluation of your physical game, that would be great; however, if players need physical creations from you, the developer, to play it, it may not be easy to get feedback.
You are correct, There is no updating of your game during the rating period. This is for one week. In the case of Improve My Game Jam 29 from the 29th of September to the 6th of October.
I didn't get the VHS reference there must be something I missed but this menu just ended up being distracting. I found myself only seeing the insert VHS message and the menus other than the text I actually had to read. Maybe you should consider a better place to have the menus or if the VHS message has a gameplay value, then it should only be visible at the time it can be used. Other than that not bad...
