Some feedback after playing. I assume you're already planning on it, but definitely add game pad support. For many players like myself, playing on keyboard is miserable. I like the motif you're going for, not many shmups with this kind of theme, so it's good to see the genre branch out from the usual fare of spaceships. planes, anime girls, and the like. The parallax effect in the background is appreciated as a nice callback to one of the things that stood out about the genre in the late 80's with arcade games and the 16-bit consoles. Bullet visibility is high, but bullet speeds and patterns are difficult to contend with. Obviously in the context of the demo itself, you're just counting hits you take vs enemies eliminated, but as the game develops I would definitely recommend slowing down bullets so patterns are more readable, and giving the character a readable hit box. Another attack vector would be good as well, whether that's some sort of "bomb" for clearing enemies and bullets, another weapon or attack type you can earn or power up somehow, or a technique you can enable by earning meter by taking out enemies. Something to spice up the basic formula. I do appreciate that the character runs on the ground if you move all the way down. That's not super common with "flying people" shmups, so it's a nice touch.

The next version of the prototype has been published! There is now default gamepad support now, you can modify your buttons with the button config in the options menu, and I've added two additional buttons/attack vectors to clear bullets/enemies. Those were all great advice to help shaping the game in a good direction!
