I really enjoyed the game. Though, I got stuck on the 4th level for a bit...
But, the game looks complete and well-polished. Maybe you could add an option to auto-skip dialogues after a few deaths on the level, because it irritated me a little to skip them each time after restarting the level.

Very polished game! Loved the simplicity of the pixel arts and level designs. Jumping was a bit confusing to me I think we could have jumped a bit higher (I failed a lot because of the jump timings) but other than that very cool game.
It's a pretty simple but beautiful game, and I liked the opening cutscene and the presence of dialogues in the game
I'm the personality type as a player, who walked up and he walked away and didnt come back so i couldn't keep the pressure plate down. (2nd screen).
But I fully understand this type of game and I am betting you have a good handle on the genre from how it all feels, the rest of it was high quality, Jams are more about that, than my badness at the game.
Gave it high marks, and you an itch follow.
If you like the thing(s) on my page(s), consider doing the same.
Also lol the height of the straight-up jungle trees reminded me of Legend of Kage for the original Nintendo.
Cheers!

Loved it, so much quality here from the art, music, and clever level design. Very impressive, and with so little time!
