Thanks so much for the kind words!

Impressive work for a 2 week game jam, lovely visual and sound design as well! (Is the ost a “fly me to the moon” remix???).

After you get used to not being able to punch backwars and where each hit’s hitbox height is you got a cool fight system where you need to prepeare and execute hit stuns to be able to get through!

Finished normal mode, sadly only saw the boss once in hard mode as the game just got too fast for me.

Overall, really cool entry!

We watched your stream! Thanks for playing! Next time we'll work a bit harder on onboarding too, so it's more easy to understand how all of the attacks work before the big showdown :)

Hey. This is sick as hell. Delightful stuff. The moon's face at the end was a very good bit. I also smile at the choice to include a Game Boy filter in the graphics options, as building a fighting game-type experience in Usagi feels very much of the same spirit of those ambitious FG ports on the Game Boy and Game Gear.

If there's anything at all I found I struggled with, it might be that the back end of the hitboxes for Usa's attacks, particularly the jump kick, are a hair less forgiving than I would expect, leading many opponents to slip past me. Easing up on that, however, might eliminate the challenge, so I'm not committed to calling it an issue.

Anyway, great work. Really enjoyed my time with it.

Thanks for the feedback! It was a struggle to figure out the right balance for the hit boxes. We'll try to get even closer to the perfect settings next time 🙏

We love your fishing game too! 🎣

The art and animations are incredible! The game is very fun too, a perfect difficulty level and the hard mode is  a nice challenge after the normal mode

Thanks for trying our game!

You can't have art like this in a game jam, you make us look bad 😭

Developer(+1)

haha sometimes inspiration strikes in the wee hours into the night of a game jam

Even though fighting games are not my cup of tea, this one felt amazing and really smooth to control! Great work with the art.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we constantly kept scoping our game down just to make sure the small part of it look, feel, and sound really good. Glad you enjoyed this!

Submitted(+2)

Loved it to the point where I would like to see more!

Developer(+2)

We're thinking of still using usagi for more explorations hmm.....

I am astonished, this is the best game in this entire game jam and one of my favorite fighter games too!! Everything is excellent about  this game, the art, the gameplay, the music everything is great!

Developer(+1)

We had a lot of fun making this, i'm glad you enjoyed everyone's contribution to it.

Amazing! Loved the sprites, and the controls are simple and friendly, also like that sometimes its good to just use the first light attack, reminds me of the loops you can make while playing Streets of Rage. Just missed a way to attack back like what SoR4 has, but it isnt a big deal since it's a way to punish previously whiffed attacks

Developer(+2)

It's cool you understood the core kit well enough to string cancel, i hope you had fun!

Nice! One of the good games in this jam

Developer(+1)

Thanks, i enjoyed your game a lot as well

I did it on Normal difficulty, scored 1663 points. It's super juicy, really feels great to play, I love it.

Developer(+1)

If you beat it on hard there is a surprise at the end!

Submitted(+1)

Thanks, I defeated both moons now. ;)

This is just terrific. first class across the board. movement is responsive and fluid and the impact on the hits feels tactile and crunchy(very gratifying).  Very well done.
