It was very confusing at first how to survive past 20 seconds, but thanks to the comment of wrywery, I managed to get the knack of the game. But yeah, that's a lot of things to juggle. Perhaps at first make only two shapes and then slowly more and more as the player stays longer and longer?
The rotating sound effect and visual effects are made very good! I could rotate it for eternity.
Yeah I agree with you and everyone that it feels a bit too chaotic immediately atm. I'll look into some ways to balance it better after the jam and hopefully have more of a curve to the intensity! Thanks for the feedback and for trying it out :)
a lot to juggle, and i don’t seem bright enough to understand what to do when destruction is imminent. however i feel like the rotation feel is really, really satisfying, paired with the sound effect making it like a real tactile rotator. kudos on making this experience!
There's a lot going on in this game, to the extent that it can feel overwhelming at first. But I'm so glad I stuck with it after my first couple of runs ended almost immediately. It took me a while to wrap my head around this one, but the strategy that started to work for me was focusing on only a single color at a time, getting its bar full and then clearing that color completely and moving on to the next color for a while. Trying to bounce around between colors just led to despair :) Things still don't last terribly long, but you can get into a bit of a rhythm (I was able to bring the reactor down from critical 7 or 8 times before the explosion on my last run.
The music and graphics are pristine here, too. Everything is super clean and smooth, and I particularly love the death animation; making the death animation so slick (both visually and aurally) is one of those things that makes it easy to start another run instead of giving up. It's so neat seeing the greyed-out shapes slowly slide away into the world, and hearing the music wind down. The little auditory flourishes really add a lot to the atmosphere.
Super slick game, and I really enjoyed the time I spent with it. Awesome work!
I don't quite get how to play this game but it looks great! Sadly, I can play only around 10 seconds before reactor destroyed. Thx for your work!
Pretty unique i'd say and fun overall
Really neat idea, but I couldn't get through more than 10 seconds without imploding. I think there's way too many particles/colors to keep track of.
Fun game! Looks awesome and feels really satisfying to play.
What an awesome idea, this game genuinely feels fun to control to top it off. The difficulty of the game means my runs (at least) were short, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I've not been in this jam but I appreciate this game.
5/5. This might be most polished game I've seen here yet. At first it was waaay too hard, yet still intriguing. Then I noticed a comment about not moving but just hitting a space. Works. Even tho I lost in the end as the bounce rotation slightly shifted over time and I didn't. So it's not an automatic win, but being steady makes the game whole lot easier. :) But damn, I love the feel in this game.
I have to disagree with the other comments, since you can win doing nothing but pressing space :)
This probably wasn't the intended way of playing though. I realize it happens because of how you spawn the particles, they will bounce right back into their own color.
Overall I really like the look of this game! I would love to see some sort of score at the end to see how well I did, right now there isn't really any reason to play again other than seeing pretty particles fly around.
I think it would look great of you made all the particles rotate randomly, right now they look a bit static.
Overall I think it just needs some fine tuning and then it'll be a fun game to play :D
heh yeah I have had a few runs where I just left it and randomness was on my side :D You're right though, it's definitely not really intended, I just ran out of time for balancing the numbers. Agree that a high score or timer would be great to have. I'll definitely come back to make some improvements after the jam.
Thanks for trying it and for the feedback! <3
I concur with the other comments: the game is very polished but I think it would benefit if the difficulty was lower in the beginning and increased gradually
the interface looks super clean, and the game is super polished overall :) but it does feel quite hard
Unique/creative concept and very polished, though it feels veery hard. But that might be a skill issue on my end.
