Had a fun time with it. Very stylish. Lovely pixel art. And it felt good enough to control once I got the hang of it. The boss at the end felt like it had a little too much HP. But I got it after a few tries.
I do feel like this one's being held back by the limitations of the engine. Movement doesn't feel as snappy or precise as it should for this kind of game. Even so, absolutely bonkers that this is made in MV. And combat felt fun even when the platforming felt awkward. Overall, well done
First. Armadillos rule.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game! The amount of times I ping ponged to my death on the wall slugs was embarrassing but after getting the hang of it I was able to complete it. I had a blast dive bombing the boss and loved your use of foreshadowing with the moles, it peaked my interest for future levels!
Awesome work!!
This game goes above and beyond expectations! I love the controls, I love the art, I love the music, it is all around and absolutely fantastic game! And I'm a sucker for platformers, there's that too. Please make more!
Incredible art! I want more...
Check the stream!!
i love the presentation! the moles and armadillos are so cute, and the entire atmosphere is very chill and endearing. gameplay is a bit lackluster but overall cool experience <3
This was such a pleasant surprise! Gorgeous custom Game Boy Colour era graphics. A freaking platformer in RPG Maker?! Are you kidding me? I kind of liked the heavy controls. It reminded me of 1996 Tomb Raider where I had to think about my jumps. This works well as a vertical slice / demo that left me hoping you expand this game jam entry into a full commercial title.
This was really cool! A little floaty but really impressive anyway given it was made in RPG Maker!
I'm sorry for the floaty controls. I have a hotfix for the demo ready to go after the voting period of the jam is over. It fixes the laggy and slow inputs while jumping and rolling, allows you to pogo on enemies to keep your jump going for longer and stay in the air (very Hollow Knight inspired), and also allows for simple Xbox or PS5 controller support (My nephew had a hard time playing on keyboard, so he asked me to put controller support lol) I hope the hotifx will address any issues you encountered in the demo, sorry again.
Really cute! Absolutely love the visuals and character designs!
Controls took some getting used to but when I got the hang of it it felt really good! The boss was challenging but in a good way!
You really nailed the underground feeling with the lighting and music! Good luck!!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it! I worked like crazy to get this game ready, and I'm glad even with the... less than favorable controls (Hotfix coming after voting period is over), you still enjoyed my little game :)
very very pretty and love the presentation
Thank you! This was my first time trying to make original graphics for a game (I'm used to sticking with asset packs and editing them a little), but I wanted to challenge myself by making a game with my own art, and I'm glad it paid off :)
So the controls? A little jank, not gonna lie. I am dying playing a platformer on my terrible arrow keys with Z. The lack of coyote time is FELT. This will never be Celeste. BUT. This game is peak. 100/10. Finally, some good fucking food!
I'm sorry for the janky controls. I have a hotfix for the demo ready to go once the jam's voting period is over. It fixes the laggy and slow inputs while jumping and rolling, allows you to pogo on enemies to keep your jump going for longer and stay in the air (very Hollow Knight inspired), and also allows for simple Xbox or PS5 controller support (My nephew had a hard time playing on keyboard, so he asked me to put controller support lol) I hope the hotifx will address any issues you encountered during the demo.
That's incredible work already. I'm very excited! This is easily one of my, personal, top ten games of the jam!
Cute! Little to slow for my liking.
