Nice concept although unfinished. You can feel the grand epic adventure ready to be told given more time. I almost got the meter reach the most right end, but the evil ghost catch up to me and my meter now halfed. The water shader works really well with Synty aesthetic. Wish for more fogs and blooms, vignette.
That’s how you scored early! You received a shield icon for that, that’s because the balance meter resetted. You can either fill the meter or catch the spirit, if you are in the superior position.
Cool idea. The game could've used some sound, but i liked the narration. good job!
My ship definitely had a better sense of direction than I did)) Thanks for the adventure!
I liked the setup and narrative. Thanks!
There's a lot of word building with lore and narrative here, which really helps to create a world outside of what we can see. it reminds me of a game version of the Fighting Fantasy, choose your own adventure books form the 80's. I really appreciated the pirate setting, the in-keeping fonts and language used. I can see a bigger game over time and you may choose to develop further. A great game jam entry. Thank you for the game!
Unfortunately the UI didn't work at 2560x1080, with required buttons off screen. Worked fine at 1920x1080 though. When pulling from your bag of chance it would have been good to have the coin spin a few times to build tension for the result. It would also help to know what result I needed to succeed for each skill check so I can feel the stakes as it's drawn. As is, I didn't feel like I had much agency in the game, although I enjoyed the encounter stories.
the difficulty and the type of check are displayed before the pick. Your skill plus the puck must equal or beat the difficulty.
The agency develops, when you start hunting for the spirit and close portals, but yes, as I stated on the page, some mechanics had to be cut due to time constraints, especially the economy of treasures and money.
