This is good for a first game. I think the presentation and gameplay are really cool and the concept is very creative. I did have some issues with the mouse being able to move the camera as well as the W/A/S/D movement, in that camera struggled to stay on the gnomes and would repeatedly overshoot them. Maybe the controls could be a bit less sensitive. I also think I either encountered a bug or didn't know a control. I pulled up the crafting menu after the gem tutorial and clicked craft the gnome, but I couldn't get off of the menu no matter what I did. Just a few minor things, but for your first game jam I think you did a great job!

I looove the art, it's creepy and beautiful at the same time. I have one complaint which is that there's too much text right at the start, both about lore + how to play, and this might overwhelm some players. But truly amazing game for a first jam!! Gnome power 🤏🤏

I didn't understand how to play. The worst idea is to give the player a ton of text right away, because usually no one reads it. This doesn't mean you can't use text at all, you just need to know your limits. I'm no guru, and you might not listen to me, but I wanted to not only criticize but also suggest how to fix it. Remove the initial text for later or significantly shorten it. When the gnomes appear, you can add text hints at the bottom that won't disappear until the player does what they're supposed to. I won't rate this game simply because I couldn't play it. Good luck in your future games

Very impressive to make an entire RTS during a game jam. I liked it but got a bit tired from the fast moving camera and the lag spikes when mining crystals. I know the desktop build is an option but I was already in too deep at that point

The pixel art for the title screen and intro is fantastic. Ingame art looks great too and the music/sfx are a great fit.

Hey, thank you. Both the desktop version and the web version have a lag problem which is specially bad for a RTS, fixing this is one of our priorities if we keep working on this now that the jam is over, but yeah, the web version is orders of magnitude worse. I'm glad you liked it though!

Luckily it only happened when mining a crystal. Its almost like its loading an asset or something. Maybe a sound effect that gets loaded and unloaded every time.

What should I do? I have a black screen.

Developer

What version you tried playing? I'll try to recompile the files.

Web version

No need, I figured out why the screen was black myself. It's just that when the little gnomes appeared, my camera started moving really fast, and I couldn't figure out why. Just make it so the player can move around the map by holding down the left mouse button

Good start. Once you get the grips with a proper RTS of splitting and micro managing the goblins to go around it gets fun to see your tiny army exploring. I imagine this would be fun to see with content and upgrades, concept is good :) . Good luck in the jam!
