Sooooo, i did change the controls but it didn't fit in the game, i don't want my game to lose its core like this.
So i'll choose to lose with my dignity rather than creating a game even i don't enjoy playing. (The captain goes down with the ship.)

I probably will be disqualified, it's shame for me since this is my first jam and i tried so hard to make the game, but i guess there's nothing to do.

I want to thank you all who played, i hope you enjoyed even if just a little bit.
I wish you luck and joy :)

What a Shame

The alien cafe concept is so cute! I love the little monsters! It was a little tough to tell the ingredients apart from the monsters' orders but got the hang of it and left with happy customers! ☺️

Thank youuu <3

The art style was really cute, but the mouse movement mechanic wasnt allowed I believe 🤔

Developer (1 edit)

i asked the jam owner, he said "the left mouse button is completely fine as the main button. The restriction is about mouse movement being used as gameplay input, not the left click itself", so it's okay i guess :3

Submitted(+1)

Yes but the ingredients need to be dragged on the shelf after being right clicked, right ? That involves mouse coordinates ! The game gives of papa's taco mia vibes, its great. But yeah this mechanic wasn't allowed I believe.

Developer(+1)

Actually it's not dragging, you just need to click once, then the item attaches itself to mouse, when you click again it deattaches, i'm asking the jam owner now :') but as i recall clicking and dragging was counting as one input, i'm not sure tho, i'll comment when i guarrentee the input thingy

It is cool and you put a lot of work into it since the visuals are straight up stunning but you use mouse position for input so it breaks the one button rule. I saw you being confused about this in a lower comment so ill explain, you can use left click on your mouse as input but not the placement of the cursor, since moving your mouse is used as an input in your game it breaks that rule, since if you werent able to move your mouse you cant win, mouse position can be used in stuff like menus but it should not be part of the gameplay process at all, its a bummer how many people missed this fact and made great games that technicaly get automaticaly sent to 0 on the theme scale. anyways great game overall.

Developer(+1)

i'm really glad to hear you liked the visuals :3 they took a good amount of time :') i'll check to input thingy again, thx for playing :3

Developer

I've updated the game :D customers are more patient (now it's modular, game will decide based on ingredient count + some extra time) and giving a burger or the drink now increases the patiency, other than that, i've added small particles, a pause menu (instead of a main menu) and a tutorial part (it's hideous), accessable in pause menu :)

Submitted(+1)

it was a little hard for me to match up the requested burger to the ingredients based on just color but i love the feel and vibes of the characters and art. they are so cute!

Developer(+1)

thank youuu ♥ i've added a tutorial so maybe it'll be easier :

pretty fast but cute game! the jam theme though is that gameplay input can only use a single button, meaning stuff like using the mouse cursor isn't allowed outside of navigating menus. but this is still good! the artwork and designs are really nice! congrats on getting your first jam project done!

Developer

Helloo, i'll update the game in 5 minutes, i'm pretty confused about the mouse click because left mouse button counts as one button, some say otherwise

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

hellooo, i'm the dev of the game :3 first of all thanks for playing, all feedbacks are important and cared for :3

The button of the game is left mouse button (as it says on top), the item you click attaches to your mouse, click again to drop it. I'm working on the patiency and other stuff, also a mini tutorial will be added in the next versions :3

I wasn't to clear what do do in the first 20 seconds, as it was a 1 button jam submission, I was trying to figure out which button it was, but seems to be mouse movement. Aside from that, you need to prep stuff fast otherwise customer take off and leave you with meal done and no one to eat it. Good potential.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying, i'll add a mini tutorial and a main menu :3

Okay mouse movement is not allowed in this jam as in discord rules only one button like to work even with only a keyboard with only a space button

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

It wasn't the mouse movement, you can play the game with left mouse click :') but thanks for the feedback ♥

OK

there should only be 1 input. clicking on different things counts as different buttons.

It's a fantastic game. I'd like to congratulate the developer. I wish them continued success.

Good game but customers need to be patient

Developer

i've updated the game :3 they're more patient now, thanks for playing and for the feedback :3 hope it's more enjoyable now
