I was extremely impressed with the amount of polish on this game! The visuals have an extremely refined look to them in a lot of ways. The layout is extremely nice-looking, easy to read, and very Marisacore. The characters are styled in a number of fun ways, too! The portraits remind me a lot of the retro anime styles, especially with the eye shape - plus there's a unique take on Sakuya, with the greenish hair and a big vermillion scarf ribbon. The result screen's chibi-like drawings are also extremely expressive.
The music & sounds were also phenomenal thanks to the high energy and personality. The individual songs seem on the short side, but they vary more than enough to make up for it. The sound effects are also a lot of fun; I enjoyed the bouncy selection sounds.
On the writing side, I really liked the way the story's premise was set, as well as all of the ways that Marisa can interact with each of the characters. I remember feeling a small bit of repetition in the writing, especially when the gameplay loop started to flow more - but that may have been merely due to the nature of the game and stat training. Besides, the number of different potential dates (per character!) helped the writing feel unique.
Aside from that, I found the concept and challenge interesting! At a glance - and not having played a raising/dating sim game in recent working memory - this plays well, and it absolutely crushed what it set out to do. Your team did amazing work on this project; congratulations on the top rankings!
I got the Nitori/Kappa ending first try and Quiet Endings on every other attempt after that. Is this what they call a reverse rizz attempt?
A quick and snappy dating sim. It's very well polished. I got the MariAli ending and I'm satisfied with that one, but may revisit later. The art and music are great.
I had a lot of fun playing this. This is a real high-effort game in a genre that isn't well-represented even in pride jams (dating sims).
With some hints from the dev, I was able to get all the endings. The balance is very tight (if you want to go for one of the secret endings). The gameplay is quick and responsive like the Tokimeki Memorial games that inspired it, and it's much shorter so it's not particularly annoying to replay the game to see more endings, although I was very happy with the Alice ending (MariAli for life) so that would also have been a good stopping point if I didn't want to sink some more playtime into this jam-masterpiece.
Awesome and fun! A real challenge, too; it took me three plays before I got something other than a Quiet End. I've since gotten two of the main paired endings plus a secret one that I was VERY happy with, and I gotta say that getting that last one in particular was very satisfying. The writing's pretty nice as well; the good endings are all very cute and romantic. The game also flows very nicely and quickly like a game like this should. Great presentation too.
Yo, I'm trying to get one of the secret endings (since the page mentioned 7 endings and i know there the 4 main romance endings + Quiet End if you don't romance anyone) but have no clue how to get either of them, could you send a hint over to me to figure out how to obtain it as I want to see it for myself
The one I got required me to get all four stats to S rank (400+). It's easier said then done, since you'll have to encounter all four girls so you can get bigger stat bonuses and do just enough dates to keep any bombs from going off. Good luck!
I don't have the slightest clue what the seventh ending could involve, unfortunately >_>
I got all four stats to 400+ but still got the Quiet End
A Touhou tokimekimemorialike is a great idea, and this is very crisply presented, especially for a game jam game! Very impressive, thank you for making it!
W-What do you mean they only tell me whether or not they're free to hang out AFTER I suggest a place? You were waiting to give your verdict depending on the place's vibes? Or was it MY vibes all along?? Sorry, lol, had to get it out of my system after being reject like 3 phone calls in a row. It might not seem like it but I really like this one! Really brings out the high stakes feeling on every choice you make along the way. I'm only choosing answers based on what Marisa would like to do, and whaddaya know, not everyone jives with her preferences. I guess it really is... the friends... we make along the way... (Distant stare)
The art and music are top notch. I especially love the little chibis during trainings and the portraits. The music is all chill vibes which fits very well. The dating sim part I'm not familiar with these kinds of games, eventually I was able to get a character ending but not the one I was shooting for. I can see myself coming back and trying to get the individual character endings. Surprisingly, not as much writing as I expected, but I appreciate it nonetheless for the amount of options and characters available.
A cool and challenging game, but I liked it.
Very lovely, I found a couple of spelling/grammar mistakes, but very minor, and also, the quit button in the main menu maybe shouldn't be in the web version, as it just softlocks the game until you refresh, although this isn't really an issue, specially if you were already going to stop playing, but just to let you know in case you missed it or something.
Happily surprised with the multiple routes.
The visuals and audio work are top notch and the story is very comfy.
I personally got the quiet ending, probably because I just tried making friends with everyone, but after I'm done playing the rest of the submissions, I'll definitely come to check some other endings.
Congratulations to the team, I think everyone's effort showed!
