I thought this was excellent. Really tight little story and gameplay loop. zero jank that i experienced and great presentation. Seeing the tube in a game was really fun for me and this was a joy to play. I kind of wish there was more of it.
Thank you. I have been wondering which other branches / layers / events I might have included outside the scope of a game jam. Who knows? Maybe I'll return to and expand on this at some point? ;)
This game was very clever and engaging. I'm kinda a sucker for time travel or timeloop stories, so this was right down my alley. Art was gorgeous and took me back to watching those old RPG Maker 2003 horror playthroughs.
Heck yeah! I started out with RM2k3 20-something years ago and its spirit lives on in everything I make now.
Really enjoyed the game.
Thank you
The choice boxes seem to be bugged. That aside, I enjoyed this!
Thank you. I think this might be a conflict between the Galv Message Styles and Hakuen Choice Manager plugins I used.
60 Feet Underground
First Impressions:
Short, sweet, EPIC. Super replayable.
Mini Essay:
The cover design is awesome to begin with, super effective shape language and very clear central idea.
The story is a classic time loop (although maybe I should have let it loop a bit more), find the reason, stop the tragedy. Multiple choices for dialogue and interactions. When I’m in less of a time crunch I will absolutely play more. Maybe I’ll even get to see the sea of suits in loop seven you mentioned was an “error”.
The character art and graphics were all perfectly aligned to the story and style. The music guided the urgency nicely, though I’m a bit dissapointed there was no music on the title screen.
The Menu did everything it needed to but the Save sound is extremely loud.
I said I’d write a one page review but I was so into the game I forgot to take any notes after “Ooh, timeloop” XD.
Let’s see, the escaltors, stairs, ticket stands, and help buttons were all very easy to understand and interact with. The footsetp sounds were appreciated. And the train motion both entering the station and in the train car were remarkably smooth.
The illusion of choice in the narrative as well as the ability to actually make choices that change the branching path you walk that day are fun. Seeing the consequences of taking different actions in a timeloop is always a good time.
10/10 Will Play Again. Thanks for the fantastic game!
Thank you for such a detailed and kind review.
It's groundhog's day!
10/10 would snip again.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
I like the premise! Groundhog Day-style games are always fun, and I love that you can just leave, lol! Good job!
Thanks. I was cackling to myself when I came up with the idea for that ending. I'm glad people found it.
Interesting idea and very nice game
Thank you :)
nice little story, very lively metro.
i think the theme is more about the timeloop than underground, but still a nice polished little game.
wish i had more to see xd
Thank you. Admittedly, as soon as the underground theme came out, all I could think of was London Underground. I did ponder underground scenes / fandoms for a bit, but that seemed even more abstract / far removed from the brief!
