Fair. RenPy Pocket IS an emulator. It's pretending to be some other kind of device. Were you using the Pc/windows version of the game?
There's currently a bug with the Mac version and it not running for Mac players. Hopefully if that is addressed in a patch maybe it will start working for you.
I'm not the developer, all I can do is watch and wait. But I do know there are problems with mac version so it's likely we will see a new version pushed to fix those problems. The game was never intended to work on ios or with an emulator. I'd suggest waiting for a new version and then doing a whole bunch of troubleshooting.
