The game is so fun! And as soon as I found out little guys die under my feet I didn't enjoy burning them anymore haha!
I noticed the WebGL version of the game was not working for me, it stayed on the frozen screen, without loading or anything, I waited a while to see if anything changed, but nothing did. But I bet that if I could play your game, I would be very impressed with what you had made. So good job nevertheless!
if you have some time, it would be awesome if you could try out my game :D
This is my kind of "cozy" game :))
I like the idea of being an immortal being and just toasting little guys. Now, the game clearly needs a bit of polish. The laser hits don't always seem to register. When the little guys go down ragdoll them or blow them up. I wanna feel that impact :). The screaming is hilarious but it's repetitive. You can use a quick hack by adding a random pitch offset to give it some variety.
I would like to see this polished up and turned into a full game. Well done.
Very creative :D The screaming sound effect reminded me of an old flash game I used to play :D. Like some people already said, I would like some more juice for the stone, the laser felt great tho!
It’s basically a mix of low-poly models and post-processing shaders. I render the game at a low resolution, 640x360 (or you can just use a pixelation shader), then upscale it and add stuff like film grain, dithering, color reduction and a jitter filter. The models are also low-poly with pretty simple textures. Most of them are just noise textures with albedo and normal maps (some also use roughness and metalic).
So basically it’s low-res rendering + low-poly assets + a few shaders layered together.
Moaning sound was peak, would have liked some sound for the stone. The 5 mins felt a bit too long, some background music banger would have helped with that, The laser felt satisfying but close range, the stone needed some more flare in my opinion
