Although I was unfortunately unable to play the game myself (due to being on Linux), I found the concept impressively creative! I never expected to see outright gender-bending for powers. I also liked what I saw of the visual style; it's very colorful and fun. Well done!
Thank you for giving a shot, and I'm so sorry for your negative experience! I hope to improve the engine to be Linux-compatible for my next game. I'm glad you found the visuals appealing regardless!
I think I saw a friend of mine play Espgaluda before...
Having Nue's shottypes be different genders is a interesting take for Pride Jam. It's a perfect fit for the occasion!
As for gameplay, I've only played Touhou when it comes to bullet hells, so maybe I'm not used to how Espgaluda does things. Took me a bit to adjust to it visually, and it also seemed like I had less... space to move around? Not quite sure how to best describe it. Loved the final spell card, and how you use the gauge reminds me of Ten Desires, but better.
oh my galuda! wowza! those are some nice patterns! they're really fast but give you enough of a window to drop a kakusei to react. and even when you're doing so and clearing a bunch of bullets, the spectacle is very visible. a great balance between having to use the mechanics and pure dodging. spell practice would be nice so i could easily go over the boss patterns again but its jam so reasonable that its not there.
i got the worst score on the lunatic leaderboard. oops.
Would have loved to play this but it doesn't seem to work on Linux through WINE. Failed to compile shader if I delete d3d9.dll, Failing to run with d3d9.dll, possibly due to some feature `khrLoadStoreOpNone` not being supported on my integrated graphics card.
thank you for your comments - Danmakufu ph3sx has always been a weird monster to work with, and I'll try my best to get these fixed for my future works! a possible fix for the shader compilation issue is known, I will try to get to that soon!
Fun bullet hell game, lacked a story which was a bit sad and disappointing to see with Nue being the center of it. The gameplay did make up for it though. Very fun.
it didnt even let me play. >:(
hi!! sorry you had a negative experience, can you tell me about the bug you encountered?
I opened up the game on my Windows 11 current laptop and 10 old computer.
Hi, can you try either of these steps before reopening the game for me:
* Removing d3d9.dll in the game directory (back this up in a folder beforehand)
* Going to Graphics Settings, adding the Start Game.exe file as an app and set the graphics setting to High Performance (for Nvidia cards)
A Windows 10 user also couldn't open the game but was able to after doing the first one. You should try both and see how it goes!
I really like espgaluda so this was cool! The patterns on lunatic were definitely harder than anything in espgaluda but the high difficulty was ok given the length and the number of lives you get.
Fails to initiate texture manager on linux :(
not built for linux yet! sorry! will try my best to fix!
Fun and polished STG. As a Touhou player I'm not quite used to the player sprite being this big (in proportion to other screen elements) but this is more muscle memory I guess. Also them laser warnings have a generous lead window so tha's cool.
Really fun! Espgaluda is the gender game of all time so it's a genius idea to give its core abilities to our favorite unidentifiable being. I do sort of wish Kakusei came with the time slow that it does in the source material, since this game is pretty fast-paced, but that's probably a lot to ask on ph3.
I do feel like the narrow shot is way easier to beat the game with but way harder to score with. Not sure if that's the intended balance or not.
Thank you for playing!
It's kind of funny, I was worried that Type-B would be too good. It is intentional that it's very easy to clear the game with, but I was worried that it would be too good to score with too, so I'm glad that wasn't the impression. My main scoring benchmark is that both shots should be able to get 500 million on Normal, so as long as they can do that, I'm mostly satisfied.
Regarding the time slow - did you know that Danmakufu ph3 doesn't have a native time-slow function, but Danmakufu 0.12m does? I just learned about that recently. What a strange engine.
