I'll get hate for this, but it feels truly sad to see how many people are complaining about diversity here. Saying that it should stay female-oriented solely because a lot of stories don't get that, when that's not even slightly true. Most romance novels are female-oriented.
No one has demanded or pushed aggressively for gender neutreal/male pronouns. The creator asked for opinions on it, and we're giving them.
The amount of disdain is frankly kind of off-putting.
It's tough! I don't think there's an answer that can please both sides in this case, but I do believe civil discussion is important. I hope neither side gets hate, though I know feelings can run hot when either side sounds aggressive. 🙇♀️ I hope no one feels too uncomfortable in our comment section.
Realistically (given our budget/time/energy as people doing this out of passion/hobby) we will probably maintain a female presenting MC (with a couple skin color options), but a male MC does mean a whole separate drawing/render pass.
Unless we magically blow up on TikTok it's unlikely the demand (for the game in general, not just male MC) will reach that level 😆 though maybe if I can style match Beanz's CGs enough, I can do a male MC version as the final update of the game after it's complete/near complete. (I wouldn't want to ask Beanz to do even more work 💀 they have their own projects and aspirations, so I don't want to keep them chained to this project. LOL)
(Adding a pronoun option should be much easier, though! I think we will try to get that in for our next major update.)

The fact that you're willing to be so accommodating is very nice, and I do appreciate your kindness! I hope it does blow up on TikTok, not for the MC accomodations, but solely because I think your and the crews work deserves it.
