  • Aesthetic is really good. I love the dithering effect.
  • ^ Same with music, matches the vibe very well
  • More in-game tutorialization would be nice, but after a run or two I figured out what was going on. I mainly missed out on how hunger worked, and didn't realize an offer had a delayed effect.
  • Corruption resulting in the screen getting static-y is a nice touch
  • I have awakened the great one. Cool end cinematic!

Very cool game, great job.

Developer

thank you. For awakening the old ones, we will fix these issues in future updates, thank you!

This game has a really great vibe :) The mechanics were well explained, so I was able to jump right in. Very solid work!

Developer

It's very refreshing to hear you were able to pick up on the mechanics and jump in right away! We did our best with the information, given the time constraint, but could have done a lot better with a proper tutorial, so I'm glad we did well enough for you to run with it anyway. Thank you! Love your game!

Great to look at and challenging to play.

Developer

Thanks! Our artists did a great job.

Developer

agreed on that

Submitted(+1)

Enjoyed this game, very cool art and sounds! Love the background. Well done and good luck in the jam <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Good luck to you, too!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool. The atmosphere comes through really well in the art and sound. The web version could use some shader preloading so that it doesn’t freeze when a new shader shows up, but otherwise the game runs well.

The game mechanics are explained well enough and the rest was pretty easy to figure out. Hard mode is a little more difficult, but after I learned the timing a bit better it went smoothly.

Good implementation of the timers and resource complexity to make a raising game.

Developer (1 edit)

thank you for summoning the old ones, we’re glad. We plan on fixing stuff in updates after the jam (maybe even a steam release), so we hope you enjoyed it!

Developer

Really excellent feedback on the shader preloading. We were a little hung up on performance issues in the web version, and I'm not sure if our programmer was able to pin down the reason (or maybe just wasn't able to implement that fix under the time constraints we had). It's valuable to have someone knowledgeable point to that, so thank you very much!

Cool game! Loved the art, music and gameplay!

Developer(+1)

For a sec, I thought our programmer (Shinkenzero) was commenting on our own game lol

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

The art and audio work in this game are awesome, I never would have thought that Cthulhu and Tamagotchi would fit together but you definitely made it work -> I was proud to see my little eldrichi all grown up 。°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°。

Developer(+1)

They grow up so fast. I remember when my Eldritchi was only the size of the Chrysler Building :)

ahh those were the days

Awesome game! It was a bit hard to understand what to do at first, but the visuals and shaders are outstanding!

It really reminds me of Mike Klubnika's Concrete Tremor—it has the same kind of vibe.

Awesome job!

Developer(+1)

Whoa, Concrete Tremor looks cool as hell. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation and for enjoying our game!

Submitted(+1)

So cool! Took me a few tries to figure out what to do. But once I know what I was doing it became pretty fun.

Developer

Hey! Glad you stuck with it long enough to enjoy it. Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game! Took me 3 tries while to understand what I had to do, but had fun once I did. The graphics and sounds are very cool and fit into the theme.

The text on the screens was a bit hard to read.

Developer

thank you for treating the old ones, if you need to read some words, please disable the effects needed in Settings!

Submitted(+1)

Great game, love the visuals, though the text is pretty hard to read.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! We've had a handful of mentions of the text being hard to read. Definitely not something for us to ignore, should we revise/update the game. Much appreciated, and glad you enjoyed it!

I reached 10 followers and later got a message that ritual failed? I think that counts as a win.

Very unique aesthetic with green colours and definitely a strong retro vibe. Music and sound effects complement it really well.

Controls are good but font is a bit hard to read in some places. Nice to see that you also included options to disable visual effects which I'm sure some people will appreciate.

Would be nice to have a button to restart the game. I had to restart a few times and each time I had to watch same ending.

Developer(+1)

Ah! I tested for that exact scenario (10 followers as one of the "lose" stats caps) a few times and thought we got it right, so that's a good thing for us to take another look at. Thanks for that, and the other feedback! Restart button is a good idea.

I was afraid I would not be able to win, but I did! Nice decision to use credits screen as endgame screen. I had fun! I see you've already draw conclusion that a proper tutorial is important - I worked out quickly that the gui for control and the game is at the bottom, but that was a bit confusing for a split second. I loved the audio track, even though it is probably a looped few seconds I could listen to it for hours!

Developer

Heyo! Thanks for summoning the old ones, hmm… the music issue, well, we are planning to release a update with a fixed or revamped soundtrack! I hope you had fun playing.

Submitted(+1)

Super cool art style and design. This game is super unique. I really can't believe how polished the whole package is for a jam. Amazing work!

Developer

That means a lot to hear! I'm very proud of my team! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing.

Submitted(+1)

I absolutely love the art, music, sounds, and design. So so so good atmosphere! Wow!

Developer

Thank you so much, that's so kind to say! We (and of course the Old Ones) appreciate you.

Submitted(+1)

great vibe and art direction, I'm fantasizing about tamagotchi-likes every now and then as well. the only immediate criticism (besides the difficulty) from me would be that I didn't see the follower count in the lower screen, I think the cubes are just too dark (or too much in the periphery). but the placement makes sense since they're moving and recruiting. thanks for uploading!

Developer

thank you for the feedback about that, this is the first time we’ve heard about this issue specifically. We’ll definitely keep that in mind for the future.

Submitted(+1)

Art - Fantastic. Vibe - Fantastic. Gameplay - a little confusing, but eventually makes sense. I don't know why, but the game stutters like crazy and takes forever to load. It's as if it's generating a new world each time you load, which shouldn't be happening for a game this size.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, especially for letting us know about the stutters. I should've made sure it doesn't happen, and now I know it's an issue.

Was a bit confused at first but once I got it it was fun! I love the cinematic quality. The feeling when the old one had been satisfied was eery and intense. Love the art, really captured the retro vibe in an embodied way, especially by not just using a filter or graphics but actual analogue tech. Kind of reminded me of little nightmares in that way actually. Fun game!

Developer(+1)

I love Little Nightmares, it's definitely something to strive for. Super happy that we captured some of the intended game feel!

One thing I take away from this jam is a proper high-quality tutorial is not to be sacrificed.

Submitted(+1)

The mechanics are well implemented and the explanation is sufficient, however, it takes some time to get it. The art and effects are incredible! I succeeded to complete the game in normal, although it took me a while. well done! pretty neat game!

Developer

Thanks for trying it, I love hearing feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I like the art and the whole atmosphere but even with the tutorial I don't understand what am I doing. Looks fantastic!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked the parts you were able to experience, and appreciate you taking it for a spin. We definitely could have done better when it comes to the tutorial. If you feel like giving it another try, we're finding that the three things people miss are:

  • Clicking the populated tiles on the map before selecting the convert or offer actions
  • Noting that for offer actions to complete, the followers must move the offering to the top of the map, meaning it takes time and should be done before hunger reaches a near-maximum
  • Purging when the corruption meter is high, as corruption buildup makes the game more difficult and causes failure if it caps out.

Either way, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Ok, now I'm definitely will give it another try. Thanks!
