This was soooooooo fun!! I loved it. I was pretty slow though, I got 15:52. I loved the artstyle, the voicelines and the overall gameplay! I think it could've been a little more retro maybe (maybe a pixelated artstyle or a retro menu would've convinced me it was retro, its pretty close already but I think it just needed a tad extra). I really like the pictures-used-as-assets style! The UI and controls are very intuitive too.

I'm slightly colorblind, which added some difficulty XD. If you expanded the game then I think the solution would be adding a colourblind mode where you match patterns rather than colours, but that would be massive overscope for a gamejam game. So here's a couple of points that wouldn't require too much extra work that would make it easier for me:

  • Being able to hide rows that have been completed
  • Having the sample colour to the left of the colour name, so they're vertically aligned and quicker to check against. Could also make the sample colour bigger somehow
  • Having a button to reshuffle the stamp pile

Having the colours in the stampbook be in luminance-order (like brightest to darkest) would be a help, but it would also make the game significantly easier. So probably not that one.

But anyways, these are minor points. The game was really really fun. If you expand it somehow I would love to play it again / see the progress. Thanks for making a cool game and sharing it!!!

got the time 8:25! I love collecting and sorting things so this game got me good haha. I definitely was a bit cocky at the start before i realized how many rows of stamps there were in the book and had to lock in xD. Really fun and the voice lines + music really added to it , thanks for the experience!

Submitted

TBH I didn't expect a game about organizing stamps would be so engaging! Was very satisfying to see the book fill up and all the stamps go in their proper place.

I hate that this game immediately activated something in my brain and forced me to lock in for 10 minutes straight and questioning whether or not I'm colorblind. 10/10

Developer(+1)

Especially for you, I’ve pushed more color palettes to the top of the prio list for the post-jam update ;) Thanks for locking in and giving it a go.

One of the few games that I came back to beat again. Just an enjoyable experience. The music maybe  doesn't fully fit the game. Great song on it's on, though.

Developer

What, you really came back? I’m so humbled. And your feedback on the music is spot-on: I recycled an old song that was lying around ;) - not a perfect fit, but didn’t wanna catch 0 stars on audio lol.

I enjoyed this so so much! Thank you! Great style and loved the spoken quotes hahah

Developer(+1)

Merci! Put a lot of love in the spoken quotes ;) might expand in the future. Thanks for noticing.

MY FAVORITE GAME IN THE JAM SO FAR! I loved it!!!

Developer

I can’t believe ANYBODY would EVER say it’s their fav game of the jam. Thank you!

Submitted

I played like seven times! I would legitimately play a much longer version haha

I liked the photo/drawn mishmash art style! The game itself took a surprising amount of concentration. The music and voice lines were great. This isn't my favorite genre of game, but for its genre, it's amazing! As someone probably once said, a game for everyone is a game for no one.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for taking the time, even though it’s not everybodys genre. Thanks for your detailled feedback. Its people like you that make jamming worthwile 100%

I rated it 5 stars on every stat but I hate you. Or love you. I don't know.

When I understood that there are 3 shades of blue and it's the reason why nothing worked I screamed. But also I laughed on each comments as an idiot. Which I, basically, am.

Great game.

Not sure, but all I know is: I love you back! Your review means the world to me and will keep me going.

This was really fun!  And despite being retro it's also on-trend as a arcane library-like.  The voice lines really did a lot for the characterization too!  Nice work!

Developer

"Arcane library-like", now that's a new term I gotta remember :) Thanks for testing and your kind words!

Got it in 8:18. Loved the voice lines. The music was a touch loud for my taste so a music volume slider somewhere would be nice so you can still hear the voice lines. Nice work!

Developer

Volume sliders / accessibility is definitely top of the list for the post-jam update. Thank you so much for playing. 8:18 is really good!

Oh wow my childhood hobby.
I am so colorblind I could barely get the colors right.
A lot of fun though.

Developer

This was your childhood hobby too? So cool. Thanks for trying it out!

Looks like I'm not a great philatelist but this sure was relaxing!

Developer

Not everyones cut out to be a true collector. Oh, the special kind of autism it takes... Still, thanks for trying.

This was a neat little game, and great for improving color recognition/differentiation. Some of those were really close to each other. I did not finish in under 10 minutes on my first try, though may retry later. The voice lines were a nice touch.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind and detailed feedback! The longterm plan here is to add even more game modes with different colors to learn and study.

Submitted(+1)

Got it in 6:46! Loved the voice lines and the music was a great background to frantic stamp sorting.
Would have loved to have volume controls though, and RIP anyone who is colorblind.

Developer(+1)

Impressive, your finish time is even faster than my own! Thank you for playing it all the way. Accessibility is quite a shortcoming on this one I'll admit. Feeling sorry for all color blind people now.

Submitted(+1)

Sorted everything with 12 seconds to spare! I rated the accessibility low because I had a tough time reading the numbers when playing in the browser.  I enjoyed how well it controlled.

Developer

Thank you so much for completing my game! Your time is most impressive. Concerning the redability, please excuse this, I'll adress it in the post-jam update. Can I ask if you tried to run it in fullscreen?

Submitted

I couldn't beat 10 minutes but I got 12:06!

Developer

Congratulations, 12:06 is still impressive, especially since you've seen this game for the first time ever. I feel really humbled you pushed through. 1000 Thanks!

My strategy was to semi sort the stamps on the table to group them and make it easier.

Developer

I hoped somebody would try that!

Submitted(+1)

I don't know what a philatelist is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask

One gripe I have is that the music overpowers the voice acting. I really like the amount and the variety of different stamp lines but the music was kinda overbearing.

Also sepia and raw umber right next to each other? You're just being mean

Developer(+1)

Many thanks for giving it a go! The sound mixing is definitely not ideal - i ran out of time and was happy to provide anything at all audio-wise. Glad a shimmer of the charm still came across. Í'll move the music issue up the prio list for the service update after the jam. Raw umber might still be next to sepia tho.

Nooo!
