really loving the retro vibes, but the controls made it kinda hard to progress.

I enjoyed this one. It reminded me of those old jetpack-style games, which made it feel pretty nostalgic. The underwater atmosphere and pixel art were nice, and the movement felt responsive.

My biggest issue was the difficulty. I couldn't make it even halfway through, so I wasn't sure if there were more levels or if the game was meant to be one continuous run. A slightly smoother difficulty curve or a few power-ups/checkpoints could help keep players engaged without taking away the challenge. Overall, it's a solid jam entry.

On the top of the screen, a progress bar is displayed, showing the player how long they have to get to win the game. In the bottom right there is a oxygen-meter, showing how much health you have left. This will deplete faster if you get hit by obstacles, and can be replenished by collecting the bubbles that occasionally spawn (they are blue circular orbs, not the really fast moving ones).

As for your point on a few power-ups/checkpoints making the challenge the same, I disagree. If we had put in checkpoints, the game would be much easier to beat.

I personally dialed the difficulty so it shouldn’t be really hard to beat, but it might take you a few attempts or more (based on your previous experiences on these types of games, eg. Geometry Dash, Jetpack-Joyride, Flappy Bird, etc.)

Thank you for taking the time to play our game.

Art looked strangely inconsistent, background in gameplay is really beautiful, everything else compared to it is okay. I felt like movement was too smooth, maybe you could make it more responsive? Overall nice game!

I understand your viewpoint on the art. We had different artists working on the background and the characters, so I understand there is a gap there.

As for my personal preference on the movement, I understand that you would like it to feel more responsive/snappy, as it would make it more predictable, and in turn, easier. However, since Jetpack Joyride was one of our main inspirations, we followed a floaty space ship kind of vibe with the movement.

But yeah, thanks for playing, and I’m glad you enjoyed the game!

good game pretty fun...i really liked the boss enemy design kind of it was very nice..with some effects and sound this can be even like more fun...great game overall..good job!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I feel bad for not having any sound effects in the game, but oh well, the time was breathing down our necks, and so it wasn’t a priority.

Hey! Nice seeing you again Sab, I quite liked the game and quite hated my brother's horrifying face (this is a compliment)

Gameplay was fun, still not sure if the fastball blue orbs were there to heal me or hurt me so I didn't touch em, brother boss fight was cool and scary and the jams were enjoyable :D

Developer

Thank you for playing, and the kind compliments. One of the things I think we could have improved are the projectiles. The fastball blue orbs are an obstacle, while the slow more shiny blue orb is an oxygen pickup.

i liked the gameplay it was like jetpack joyride

Developer

Thank you, and nice observation 😉

You are in the peace with your phantoms - I like pixel-art and the boss. But I didn't succeed reading all boss frases - to focus on avoiding them.

Developer

Thank you for playing, and yeah, it was difficult balancing the projectile speed with actually being able to read them. I understand that most of the focus went into actually avoiding them 😅

I really like the animation of the long neck dude very creepy but in a cool way. The game is very straight forward like flappy bird. At first I thought I should just be dodging everything but after losing once I realized that I need to collect those snowballs to survive. Overall, really great game. The team did amazing! keep it up!

Developer

Thank you for playing. The so called “snowballs” are meant to be oxygen pickups, to fill your oxygen bar. I’m glad you found the game straight forward, as I was worried the game might be confusing without some extra story put into the game.
