Random Huge Number of Project Visits After Years of Inactivity

Howdy,

I was checking my dashboard today and saw that one of my projects, "Worlds Apart," randomly amassed 903 visits over the course of two days after multiple years of zeroes. Does anyone have any guesses as to why this might've occurred? The visitors didn't download, comment, or anything... Is it bots or something? If so, why so many?!?

Bots, likely. Internet bots are out of control, wasting people’s precious time and energy.

My other guess is a stretch: your project was added to a new collection that includes very popular projects, and yours was suggested on the others’ download pages. But then it would be extremely odd that no one out of almost a thousand views responded by downloading or adding your project to their own collection.

Oh, okay that makes sense. Thanks for responding!

Apparently google is bugged and several itch creators observed similar issues. It happened to me too.

Alrighty, thanks for responding!
