This was a lot of fun! Simple but effective. Great job, and congrats on your first jam! This was way better than my first submission haha

Developer

It always gets me so hyped whenever people say it was fun haha, I really appreciate that! I checked out your game and I gotta say, it's amazing! I actually thought about making a game in this same style, but I gave up because of how challenging it is. I hope one day I can make something as cool as yours!

bullet hells are always entertaining! nice implementation of one! visuals are pleasing! good job!

Developer

Thanks for that! I have almost no experience making models and these were practically my first ones. I was actually going to use some of Kenney's assets, but the files just got corrupted... guess we don't need 'em anyway!

That was super fun! I love me a good vampire-survivors like game. I came a little close to crashing the game a few times, but luckily the game held on until the very end. I felt like the difficulty escalation was done right, and I really like the SFX. Good job!

Glad you liked it! I was a bit unsure about the progression, but that was mostly because I sucked at my own game lol

Reminded me so much of Vampire Survivors! Quite fun, I tried a couple times to last the full three minutes but I kept getting surrounded by the end (a skill issue, more than anything). The upgrades felt really rewarding, especially the multi-shot upgrade so I could mow down those spiders like they're nothing!

Developer

Vampire Survivors was my main inspiration, mostly because it's so much fun! I'm glad you liked it. The idea is definitely to make you feel powerful. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to add more upgrades, but my favorite is the rapid fire one.

Great Game, its pretty easy and fun. kinda laggy in the end. if there were more enemy types or smth like that it would be better i think. i liked the idea

Developer

I was planning many more enemies, even a big boss that was going to use the jam theme of something big watching you, but I simply ran out of time, lol. I got too ambitious and had to cut a lot of content, but I'm glad you had fun

Fun little game! You should try uploading a web version, you'll probably get a lot more people to try it that way!

Developer

It's my first jam ever and I didn't know a web version was so important! I'll try to do it next time, but just hearing you say you had fun made it worth it

fun and simple, nice job

Developer

So glad you enjoyed it! Hearing that makes all the effort totally worth it!

Pro tip: go for POWER POWER POWER

Nice vampire survivor. I like the graphics. Simple, but looks good and works. As I became an unstoppable thunder machine, the game slowed down quite a bit, due to the amount of effects and enemies.

Good job on your first gamejam! Making a game in a week, that can be played through from start to finish is already a win. Unfortunately most people only play games in a browser.

Thanks for the feedback! My main focus really was on the fun factor and letting you become the GOD OF THUNDER cough, so I ended up completely neglecting performance. Honestly, I didn't even think about it! But hey, that's how we learn. I'll definitely take your tips to heart!

Oh, and by the way, the best stat is actually Rapid Fire, don't listen to him!

Developer

Hey everyone, this is my first one so go easy on me. Unfortunately, the assets I was going to use ended up getting corrupted, but who needs them, right?
