Feeding the monster planets that scale bigger with upgrades
The monster also gets bigger the more he eats.
A monster has appeared!
It has a terrible hunger, we must FEED IT!
Don't ask where we got the planets from.

Due to feedback received, please see below game play notes:
You can spam the Feedit button, I have a slow moving animation for effect, but it is not tied to how often you can press the button.
You would need to press it more than 2 times per second to see progress at the start.
Your upgrade points "generate" if the monster has "food" in it's belly. If you don't press fast enough, it may appear to stay on 0%.
Fill the monster to 100% and see what happens!
What bonus challenges did you complete?
Did you use any sort of AI during the development of your submission?

Pretty cool simple little game, the music changing pitch as the monster got fatter did make me unseasy, I thought it would have a jumpscare lul. Overall pretty cool game for your first jam.
Thank you for playing and thanks so much for the feedback. That is encouraging. It makes me nervous to share my work, but the itch community seems really cool!
I wanted to go with a little creepy vibe, but did not want to venture into horror.
I like the idea of clicking to counteract a draining bar, since it makes the end-goal obvious from the start and visually fills up.
I wonder if it would be helpful to have the hunger depend more on fullness, like hunger = k * fullness, That way the bar doesn't drain at the start, but it drains faster as you get more upgrades. This might also help you tune the scaling, since progress would balance at fullness = hunger / k = (planet_size * clickers ) / k.
Fully balancing it out might be too much for a jam, and I just hand-tuned everything in my entry.
Thank you for the feedback. Good suggestions. As you say, time was limited.
I also had a busy weekend. Only put in a few hours on Friday night after work and Sunday. Submitted with very little time, and had some export issues to boot!
Overall it was a great experience and I have never made a complete, although short game in such a short time span. Normally I work on it for weeks.
So, just clicking on the button makes the update increase. The game didn't really seem to have any purpose. You need to explain more in your game play description on itch. This was hard to follow
Hi Beebster. Thank you for the feedback.
I realize it is not clear enough, you can "spam" the feed it button, which makes the left progress bar go up.
The rate at which it decreases goes up over time as well.
I will update the description to make it a bit clearer.
The purpose is to make the monster full (progress bar) and then something happens.
You answered 'Yes' to having used AI during the development of your submission. Could you confirm to what extend you've used generative AI? We've clearly stated that's against the rules of the game jam and might lead to disqualification.
I used an AI assistant strictly as a documentation reference to clarify Godot 4 function syntax. No code was copy-pasted, and no assets were generated.
