The framing is the best idea here: the whole screen is a newspaper page, with NEWS in huge letters at the top and article text below, and the playable area is the photo in the story. I hadn't seen that before and it stuck with me. The vertical side tabs, UPGRADE on the left and CONTRACT on the right, integrate the menu into the scenery without cluttering it.

The layered desert in orange, salmon and dark red is a good readable palette, and the rifle barrel in the foreground gives it depth. Shooting works well, I clicked targets and they disappeared.

Also, you wrote on your page that the game will keep running after you stop developing it. Simple, direct and exactly the spirit of this jam.

Four things. The Kills / Score meter in the top left sits behind a grey circle (the scope? a gear?) and the text is unreadable, so I never knew my score at any point. The targets are floating heads with no bodies, hanging in the air over the mountains, which looks odd next to how careful the rest is, and a body or even a platform would fix it. There's no hit feedback at all, no sound, no +1, no animation, the target just vanishes. And I couldn't open the UPGRADE or CONTRACT tabs by clicking them.

The newspaper framing is too good an idea to stop there.

Thanks for taking your time to review my game.

I had a sound where if you shot the enemy it would make a sound of someone with pain.

I’ll keep the rest in mind and I’ll see what I can do with it.

The concept is really cool, but it wasn’t really clear what to do, i also thought that i could one shot the enemy. The upgrade would be even better if when you buy one some visual effects appeared on the weapon or the weapon itself changed. The contracts idea is really cool! Hope this helps :D

The visual in this game look good!

I thought I could one-shot the enemy, but I couldn't. There wasn't any clear visual or audio feedback to let me know whether my attack had hit. I hope it gives me some feedback when shooting an enemy.

I liked that the whole game is hand drawn! and beautifully as well.

however, couldn't find the first contract for some reason, maybe also add some sounds? it will really help the immersion.

Developer

yeah for the sounds, I couldn’t export them. Thanks for the feedback!

The idea of the game is good, but it's not very clear what you're supposed to do at the beginning.

Developer

Okay thanks!

Yeah. Need some feedback after doing something.

I like the idea, but I had trouble figuring out what to do.

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Once I realized that I was shooting at the wrong people I started to improve my score! The kills and point texts could have been a bit easier to see, otherwise great job!

Developer

Thanks a lot!

I can't figure out if I'm doing anything? I accepted the wizard contract, then there were just blue heads, and shooting them doesn't do anything. My kill or score doesn't change, or maybe I just don't understand?

Hi, in the begining the damage of the sniper is 5 so you got to spam on the characters until they die. If it dies you get points. You got to play till day 5 and then you get your score. The contract is just a way to earn Some money. Thanks for the feedback

I really liked the idea and the freelance-like vibe of this game, although I had a hard time figuring it out.
