That title screen should be an example for the whole jam. Neon blue isometric background, big title, and right underneath, four lines explaining everything: how to move, how to shoot, how to buy, how to capture a tower and how to win. I went in already knowing how to play. After a lot of entries where I was guessing at the controls, that is worth gold.
The dark cyberspace grid look with cyan outlines is really beautiful. The isometric platforms, the towers, the purchase diamonds with prices (10pt, 2pt, 50pt), it reads like Tron. And there's a minimap in the bottom right with fog of war revealing as you move. In a jam! That's a rare level of finish. The HUD is complete and clean too, points on top, HULL 400/400 and the upgrade levels (HP LV0, DMG LV0, SPD LV0), so you can see your build progressing. Keeping the control line pinned to the bottom during the match is simple and effective.
Three things held me back. The camera doesn't follow the tank closely, and after moving a while I literally lost my own tank, it became an almost invisible little blue triangle in the middle of a dark map. A glowing outline or an off screen arrow would fix that on its own. The map is dark and the pieces are similar in colour, so it's hard to tell platform from void and I went in circles unsure whether I could cross. And I couldn't work out in practice how to capture the neutral towers, "stay close" was the instruction, I stayed close and saw no feedback.
Ambitious and polished. Sort out the camera legibility and this is one of the most complete entries in the jam.
An amazingly fun game :)
This game is unbelievably fun . all 5 stars from me !!
Sure that this is gonna win.The only problem i see tho is the required spam in all your battles
very fun!
Fun little game! That enemy commander absolutely destroys tho lol kinda hard that he can reclaim towers and if there were healing mechanics i couldnt figure them out. Nice work tho! Really love the classic RTS vibes of this much better than ur typical moba!
Nice game!
Good art also, I loved it.
The movement was slick!
Well done. It reminds me somewhat of my own game (not in this jam) Vibe Tanks.
this game is great. i usually don't like moba games that much, but this one is an exception
Extremely fun and polished!
A lot of fun! Is an actual game I can play over and over again, the graphics and music are great as well!
The blend of tower defense and map exploration (which turned out really fun) worked really well—kind of like a super fun version of Capture the Flag. The game turned out excellent, man.
It’s easily a game that could be on Steam or the Play Store.
Would love to play a full game like this! Although, I'm not seeing where the "High Score Chasers" part comes in...
That's so good you might as well release it as a commercial product.
I really like strategy games, and I found your idea very appealing. Well done!
really cool :) i love turret games
Really fun game, good job!
