It looks like a very ambitious project. I wish you good luck.

I was in the US Army field artillery for 20 years. Hence, the jam. Now I do games for fun. If you get a chance, check out my favorite: Vibe Tanks by M Dawg

Well done, and congratulations on winning the Artillery Jam!

I have updated the game, based on your feedback. Perhaps you'd care to try again, and update my rating?

Well done. Hats off.

Hello Jammers! We only have 6 entrants, so I would be obliged if you would graciously rate every entrant, so we can have a thorough review of everyone. Please leave good feedback comments, so all jammers can improve their games. I, your humble host, have played all your games and rated them all already. I thank you all so much for participating!

Also, please create threads letting me know how I can make the next Artillery Jam even better.

That is good feedback, and I will work on it. TYVM! I am glad you enjoyed it, and thanks so much for trying it and for your kind words.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for trying it!

Suno is a paid AI tool, right? Sounds like it works well for the music. I may have to just bite the bullet and do it. Claude procedural is... well... it tries it's very best, doesn't it?

I tried to put a minor twist on the restaurant service games with that. Thanks for noticing!

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it.

Not bad. Tough for me because of the language, but I got the hang of it. The music was a little repetitive, but I think you can fix that. I hope you keep improving this!

It's a cool game, but technically doesn't fit the theme as it is a direct fire weapon that is primarily used. Good art, music, and play. Old school NES-like.

I like the 3d battleship a lot! Understanding the targeting is a little difficult. Please keep developing it!

I liked the different waves. Found it hard to hit near targets. I wished there were more music. Very creative - I haven't seen a concept like this before. Overall, good work!

Nice "read and react" game. I wish I could have seen the projectiles! The deep THUMP sound was really cool!

Very involved.

This had like a Wii vibe to it, it felt like to me. The theme page coulda been done up a little more for better presentation. Overall, not a bad game. Took me a minute to work out how it was played, but not bad. Good work.

Very nice art. I liked the music and the dialogue. Novel games aren't really my thing, personally, but I can see this was well done and would appeal to a lot of people. Good work!

IT is supposed to have kind of a weird mystique to it... Thanks for playing!

I dig it. It's like an old GameBoy thing. The music was soothing. That was AI?

Thank you! I am very glad you enjoyed it, and grateful that you tried it!

Okay, give it a shot. It's ready. The toggle is next to the control map on the main menu. You want "Absolute." Let me know how it goes! If you like it, I'd only ask that you adjust your rating accordingly, please and thank you.

Gimme a bit...i'll let you know when it's in.

I could make a toggle to make the direction absolute, if you like.

Really? Because W-A-S-D has existed for decades. Could you be more precise and explicit please?

Nice simple game. Easy to get the hang of. Kinda reminded me of Excitebike.

That's good feedback. Working the cloudflare issue now. There are difficulty settings and target practice also if you want to get used to the game before taking on a hard cpu. The options menu offers a lot of configurability.

I really like the concept. I couldn't get the hang of how the troops move to the banner. AI-generated looks a little unpolished. I am not against AI use, just saying that the fonts and styles could be made more your own. I think it's an interesting game to develop. I was playing it for about 10 minutes.

That's good feedback. Thanks for playing! Imma put those remarks to work.

Drawing mechanics seem okay. A little jittery on my system.

I didn't really understand the combat too much. I did enjoy the graphics and especially the music. I think the log should be on by default. Good game. Obviously a lot of work and a long time in development. Well done overall!

The idea is that the main projectile fired by the user should have a parabolic or non-linear trajectory. That is, it achieves it's aim point indirectly, not directly. What effects happen after that are up to you.

hmmm. not quite. if you are shooting the crack with direct aiming, it is not an artillery-style shot. it may be an indirect effect on the target, but it is not an indirect shot. think of the theme as the shot itself as required to have a non-linear trajectory.

the idea is that there is a target, and the target is hit by a projectile indirectly. if after solving the puzzle and action happens where this occurs, that would fit the theme. if no such action occurs, it would not.

I appreciate you saying it's cool. I accept that it's repetitive. I was working out some things. It's a concept I am working on, and hope to incorporate in a larger game soon. Thank you for playing and saying it's cool.

Congrats on your win in Retro! I hope I at least made you sweat it.

I’ll take it as a compliment. I was going for a “Ski-free” mechanic” with a 80s CRT feel.

i assure you, my rating was quite thorough and fair the first time through, my own difficulty with the language not withstanding.
