Thanks so much for playing the game again! So sorry you had to experience the broken version earlier, yeah it was a lot to untangle, far more than I expected!
And I'm happy you liked the companions and driving, I tried to make them as non-frustrating as possible without polishing them. Because I frankly didn't have time to, and I wanted to emulate crummy friendly AI of Daikatana or Bethesda style games BUT without them being required to do stuff to progress.
