Very creative use of the theme, and the hand drawn sprites are lovely! Nice job!
I reaaaaaally love this one!! advising unruly, awful rulers is such a fun concept for a game, and your writing is so full of charm and anti-authority snark hahaha
My only critiques would be that there should be a way to advance time a bit faster. each event steps forward after a few seconds, but I think it'd be much more fun if you could keep it moving by clicking to the next event, or something like that! And I also wish there were more opportunities to change the laws. I got stuck with some bad options from the very start and got stuck in a spiral of having no medicine or fabric, and no trades or opportunities popped up to get any fabric at all in two whole reigns.
This is so so fun though, I would really love to see more!
What an interesting take on the theme. Felt a bit like a chaotic and face-paced Civilization, with a lot more beheadings.
Game got stuck for me a couple of times after picking cards. But other than the expected jam game bugs it was a lot of fun and very different from the others I have played.
I like the overall idea, it's a fun twist on the resource management genre. I feel like having more events per year, like 2 or 3 would make it more fun as it felt like I would lack a resource and have to wait to long to have the choice to replenish it. Great work on your game!
Also I just realized, count down, pretty fun twist on the theme :)
I love the concept of being the advisor to a bad monarch, with the countdown being the length of time until the monarch is beheaded. The text did glitch out occasionally and the cards sometimes took a while to show up, but those were the only bugs I really encountered. The art style was cartoony and consistent, and the implementation of the materials being drained by the monarch is a fun challenge, especially given that resource management games rely on unforeseen challenges. I also love the character names. Long live Queen Leonie, Lecherous Queen of the Dagger Kingdom!
