Game was great! I loved the freedom of choosing your own skills and choices, yet its clear that there was a specific way. The artwork was beautiful (praise to the person who drew that) and the dodging was OP! seriously doing a dodge than the mini x3 slashes carried until the last boss

Great game! the whole time i played, the only thing i thought was "no way they made this in 4 days."

Honestly beautiful. Just like others, I was not understanding it fully on the first couple of playthroughs, but once you understand the dodge mechanic you're set. The countdown of the blessing was very present and sometimes forcing you to make very interesting decisions between taking damage, wasting one blessing to dodge, or trying to attack hoping you had enough dmg output. Even though I agree with others that the art is the clear strength of this game, the game loop and grind has definitely got some potential. I think some very simple effects like shakes, dmg counters, even just blinking text that pulls the attention of the player to the relevant parts of the screen at the moment of effect, would help the essence of the gameplay that you already have, truly shine (you already have really good sound effects that partially remedy to this problem though, and they're great!)

Couple opinionated takes:
- the three attack types feel more like upgrades than different types, maybe they don't necessarily deserve different slots on the skill bar.
- the last skill feels too expensive or poorly integrated, I ended up beating the game without using it because of this. Also it doesn't combine well with the dodge because of this (skill -> dodge -> only one turn to make a big hit unscathed | total cost 5 blessing)

The rest of the skills feel pretty well balanced overall, and honestly  very good ablancing probably requires hours and hours of playtesting, so congrats for managing to do such an entertaining experience in this 90ish hours! Thank you for making this and congrats!

Thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous game! Enemies are interesting and makes you think differently to beat each one of them. The first one was really though

Thanks for playing!

I gave this a fair shake but I ate crap on the first enemy and couldn't figure out how not to get hit all the time.

Developer

Hey, thanks for giving it a try. If you want to give it another chance, the winning strategy for the first enemy is dodging then making a simple attack (which will be x3 after dodge); also when enemy's hp is low you may want to use dodge and then heal (which also be x3 so it'll restore a large part of lost hp). Also, you may want to toggle easy mode on the starting screen, it debuffs enemies.

Dodge into triple strike, my beloved

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, that's my favourite too XD

This is actually amazing, the art is fantastic, audio is super well done, the loop of going in with very little and figuring the game out and coming back in with more stuff is super fun. Wow, really amazing work, love this game.

cool art, but the ramp on the first enemy is wild, maybe give a little bit of a player achievement first and then jump someone in the tough stuff

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, you're right.. If we decide to continue this project, we'll certainly do the start much more friendly.

The music and art is beautiful, the battles where fun too, but the enemy after the green spiders where too much for me.

Thank you for playing!

Pretty cool idea. I really like the art and sound!

I liked the strategy and the atmosphere most. The character gets super strong during subsquent games but it is possible to finish the boss even before this. The dodge mechanic with getting additional action but timing it well with enemy attack works really well.

Great concept, absolutely wonderful artystyle.  Great music and sound. Not 100% sure about the balancing, I feel like different actions have vastly different power levels. Font was a bit hard to read.

Overall a fantastic entry and perhaps the most beautiful game I have played from this jam so far. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words!

great game! my only nitpicks  are its hard to read font and all debuffs are a bit useless

Submitted

What a great concept. Wonderful artstyle and feel. Love it!

I love that the main enemies are all spiders! I liked the perks, and how much strategy was necessary as you progressed. Great work! I think the art was cool too.

This game is beautiful! Very enjoyable rogue-lite mechanics and clever idea of counting down. Well done!

The art and audio are both amazing! (tho font may be a bit hard to read sometimes) And the gameplay is pretty interesting aswell!! Dodge seems a bit strong, but for the final enemy you still need to use some planning, especially weakening potions I've found to be good against it. Probably my favorite game so far!  :D
