A charming game! I found it quite frantic and was really only able to keep up to about 5 flowers alive, as otherwise, the beetles overwhelmed me. I hadn't realized until later that the watering can countdown could be increased arbitrarily far, so I could focus on watering to give myself some buffer. I do wonder if some people are able to keep all 10 flowers alive at once. I feel like it would require very quick and precise mouse movements, especially since each tool can only be used once before it needs to be selected again.

How does your game fit the theme?
In my game, the countdown theme is linked to a flower that needs to be watered to stay alive.

Thanks for playing the game. I didn't actively look for a team: I messaged only one person, but they already had a team. Plus, it was the day before the jam started. I was also a bit apprehensive about working in a team, since I hadn't even developed games on my own yet, let alone with someone else.
fun! managing many got hectic, but i managed to fill all the planters!

Hooray! I managed to save the bees from winter!
Actually, it wasn't that easy, haha. In my stupidity, I mistook Colorado beetles for bees... and was very surprised when the hammer actually worked on them, haha.
The game isn't easy; you need attention and reflexes. But it's quite complete! Thank you so much for the game! It even brought back memories of catching beetles on potatoes when I was younger.
Great game, SOme suggestions:
- More flower types
- More things to do as the flowers give honey
- More music/ art, etc
- Different types of bees
- Different Game modes
- Fun, but feels somewhat repetitive.
This game was really fun! I thoroughly enjoyed a the way till the end. If you wanted to make the game bigger, I think having more flower types that produce more honey or have longer timers with be really interesting. Great first game though!
Really well done on your first game. I enjoyed it :D
Besides adding more time for players to manage a plant, adding shortcut buttons would be great for this game. For example pressing 'A' will change to watering, pressing 'Spacebar' will change to the hammer.
Keep up the good work!
I really love the idea in this one, and I really like how frantic it gets by the end! I do think the game's onboarding is a bit rough (the exact goals and how to do them are a bit unclear), and I think it would be nice if you could just repeatedly use a tool rather than having to reselect it from the options menu every time- moving the mouse back and forth from the watering can button to a single flower repeatedly is a little tedious. But I had fun, and this was a really neat take on the theme that led to some cool chaotic gameplay. Good work!
Very nice entry, congrats for completing your first game jam, you can officially call yourself a game developer ;)
As for the game, there are definitely some things that could be improved, like implementing a tutorial or literally just a wall of text explaining what to do. This doesn't take longer than 5 minutes to add and helps a lot by removing the need to guess what each thing does (which is especially helpful when time is of essence). Another qol addition would be not having to select each item again after using it, there's no harm in it staying selected.
Aside from that, congrats on making a game!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the great feedback! I had actually considered including a tutorial at the start of the game jam but forgot. As for the choice of items—or lack thereof—I decided against it because the gameplay isn't particularly engaging on its own, and the randomness adds a bit more chaos; though, I suppose that could be turned into a feature for improvement. This was the first game I’ve ever shown to anyone, so comments like yours really help me spot the flaws and unfinished aspects. THANK YOU!
Congrats on your first project! For a solo dev, I appreciate that you distributed your effort well between the different arts (sound, drawings, programming). My feedback would be to give a bit more of in-game instructions about how to play and tune a bit more the progression. The beginning could be more interesting if you start with a bit more honey, or if you start with a flower already planted, etc. Please check our game! Would love some feedback too ^^
Congrats on your first game jam! Making everything yourself is incredibly impressive! I struggled understanding what to do at the start but then got the hang of it!
I had fun and enjoyed the challenge, though I would have liked a little more instruction as I was pretty confused at first. Maybe something that shows that the flowers are earning you honey?
There was definitely a "sweet" spot once you get about 4 flowers going where it felt really fun! It's pretty difficult to get it started, having to maintain one flower for about a minute and a half. Maintaining more than 5 flowers at a time without any hotkeys was also difficult since it may not register input and de-select if an action is still occurring or if you miss click as well. If it's possible to maintain that difficulty when you have 4 flowers for the entire gameplay, that would be the perfect scenario but otherwise good job!
For a first game jam on your own this is very impressive! Keep practicing and getting better you'll get better everyday!
