An interesting idea. I hope this first game jam was entertaining and fun. I would give the advice to work on level design as that's what I worked at for my last platformer for a game jam! Would love if you could check out my game too!

I had a good time even though it was a little bit janky at times. It has a lot of potential to be a really fun platformer. I did also get stuck in a wall once like others said.

I also feel like it would've been more challenging if the enemies respawned when you die, however I am unsure if I could've beaten the last enemy if that were true.

Keep it up, you did very good for your first jam! :)

i had a lot of fun with this one! the sprites work really nicely, and this is great for a first game jam! played it all the way through. an area of improvement could be for your next platformer when you jump in the air the camera doesnt fully follow you on the jump so you can still see the floor. a camera script that detects the player y movement and then either zooms out or only moves up a little would work great. great job!

Cool idea but same problem - stuck in the wall

Hi! A cool concept and I liked the execution, but i found a bug right away, if you move into one of the walls near the start you get stuck and you have to die to reset it. Picture shows the thing (this happens in more levels):

Yeah the movement/collision code is held together with hopes and dreams, I didn't have much time left to fix it in the end (though, it should've been my top priority looking back now). I'm glad you liked it though!

Quite a nostalgic game design. Congrats on your first complete submission.  (Would love it if you could try my game too)

Well executed platformer (I love the bat, great idea)
