I quite enjoyed this one! you've got a solid mechanic that was a lot of fun to play around with! Honestly I think you've already built a strong foundation and the main thing this needs is bunch of player feedback. I think elements like some indication when the clone switches, a way to gauge player jump height without trial and error, and the ability to autoskip to the next clone would be a huge boost for the user experience.
I really liked the levels with less clones, I think those show off the core mechanic much better and give the player some interesting decisions to make, good work with those! I'd love to see the mechanic explored further with different clone variants, or dynamic world elements to allow even more interesting player interaction.
On a visual and audio front I think you've done a great job! The art is cohesive and feels like it all follows a similar theme. I think there are several small things you could easily do that would clean it up and take it up a couple notches. For example, I think animated scene transitions should be your next go-to to immediately make this look much more polished. Same with looping persistent audio, having the song repeat every time a levels starts is classic and super easy to fix.
What you've got here is a wonderful jam entry with a bunch of easy potential for polish and exploration of the mechanic further. You should be very proud! thanks for making this :D
Thanks! I was considering to maybe turn this into a bigger game, with like trampoline clones, icy clones, rocket clones, etc. I will 100% take this into consideration if I ever plan to. Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot! :D
one of the most enjoyable games I've played so far, I actually have no complaints, great game for a 4-day jam!
Thanks! :D
Nice I finally won! I love the little alien dudes they're adorable lol! This was a fun puzzle game. It was kinda trippy on the one background that kept spinning back and forth but overall I enjoyed the game a lot. Congrats!
Thanks! The one level with the spinning background was kind of random, it was kind of an empty level so I thought the spinning was cool.
Really well done! I got stuck playing this one for a while. I was really interested in where the next levels were going to take me. Good, clean art. Wasn't sure about the purpose of rotation. Maybe that comes in later levels. Good job!
Thanks!
Really cool game! The timed level builder is really interesting, makes it so you can't be to perfect with your placements. I think if you wanted to take this a step further, maybe adding different types of clones with different platform mechanics (like disappearing after you jump on them, or bouncy, things like that) would lead to some interesting level design opportunities. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback! I was originally going to add a trampoline and icy clones and stuff, but I did not have enough time to do that.
Very good! Reminds me of my own old jam entry where I used the same art assets and also had a cloning mechanic :) I guess my only complaint would be that the clones are too thicc, and you can too easily get yourself stuck in tight spaces
Thanks!
Very good first time entry. I think the platforming worked very well. There could have been some better feedback when a clone got activated. Color shift. A sound. That type of thing. Because sometimes I just missed that it had switched. Also a faster loop to get back to start of the level when you realize you had messed up. Also having instructions that autoskips to the next step is somewhat problematic if you don’t read fast or get confused. Having press button to get next instruction would also help when retrying first level, to not have to sit through the instructions again.
I liked the game. It was a fun little puzzle platformer.
Here’s my play-through:
Appreciate it!
