Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to keep this feedback in mind! Also ps. For all the audio i just randomly moved my mouse around in the editor until it kinda matched what i wanted… sooo ya lol

Thanks tho!

Really neat game, the web build was quite a bit laggy for me, but I still enjoyed the game, the art and the style nonetheless, great job!!!

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback! And I do like the idea of increasing the time a little bit, thank you! (PICO) :)

I love the "feel" of shooting, the sfx and the visuals were very satisfying! Congrats!

thank you so much! I really was highly inspired by celeste classic for this project! Im glad you liked it!

Wow I love the Juiciness of this game by that I mean like the Effects, game fell, etc, they all make the game feeel soooo satisfying lol! I loved it lots! Congrats!

Oh wow! I love the art and effects of the game! Like that eye blinking? Or the cards rotating, its really nice, I was quite a bit confused how to play at first but I did get the hang of it, I think this is great! Congrats!

The idea was very unique! I liked it, the game was a bit difficult but the hints were nice and I liked the memes lol. Congrats on submission!

Thank you so much! This means so much! I'm glad you enjoyed!

Thank you so much! I'm sorry about the audio, I'm still trying to figure out how sound work in tandem with the body part on your head. <3 silly monkey <3. And yeah I did base this as heavily inspired by celeste classic! Im so glad you noticed! :)

Super Silly! I loved it!!!! Congrats!

The art and voice acting are soo awesome!! Like fr so fun! Congrats on this game submission!

Wow this was really fun! I really like this mechanic a lot! Tho for me it started to lag after the 4th loop. But I still liked it a lot. Great Job!!

OH WOW I love this game soo much It really gives me nostalgia for bad piggies! I love it sooo muchh!!

I love this meta game! lol I will be waiting for the full release of Doomsday fs!

Thank you so much! You're the first to comment about the sound effects lol, tbh for all the sounds I just randomly moved my mouse around in the editor until it was kinda like the sound I wanted. But I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I really like this game! Its a neat concept, but sometimes I would phaze through walls and the main issue I thought was that the game wasn't that intuitive, like what ghost does what, but once I understood it the game got a lot of fun tho I also think there's joy in trying to figure out what does what like a puzzle, thats why I continued playing lol. So all in all I really enjoyed this game and congrats on your submission!

Thank you so much! I will keep this in mind I'm so glad you enjoyed!

thanks so much! :) im so glad!

Thank you! Im so glad you enjoyed!

Thats so nice of you! Im sure you have made a lot of people very happy, including me lol! If we ever meet again in my next game. You’ll see that i will have improved! Cheers!

This game is adorable! It reminds me so much of the little Ferro Pet's you know? It's so cool! Great Job!

I'm so glad to read this review so I try to answer every point you have made as best as I can!:

  1. Your are right about the RNG part with turrets, I realized that in a game with a tie constraint, waiting on something that has a potential to not happen at all or at the last possible moment isn't great become then you're bottle necked, So one way I would probably think of fixing this would be getting rid of the red orbs from turrets and making them only shoot pink orbs so you wont be waiting guessing for the next one to be a pink orb to finally be able to progress the level. I could have also added multiple paths like in a few of my later levels so that if you get lucky and are able to skip some parts of the level, thats great, or you can go the other more consistent route.
  2. Difficulty Spike in level 3: Yeah this one was definitely a mess up on my part, whilst testing I built levels around how I could move the character and ended up making a path that requires a very precise jump. I feel like the normal level on level 3 isn't too difficult and can definitely be learned and enjoyed, but I agree that the difficulty spike in the "procrastination" stage was too much compared to the normal level. I definitely could have put this further into the game towards the end with more of a skills buildup.
  3. My worst levels in retrospect were totally the RNG levels 5 and 6 With 6 I wanted a level where you travel across the orb. And that could have been a cool thing if you weren't waiting for the pink orb. Same with 5.
  4. My other levels after those are normal good levels in my opinion, except for 7, where I somehow made the stage 2 mode way easier and more fun than the normal stage lol.
  5. I understand your point about not being able to easily replay your levels so I tried adding the Konami code to be able to play any level you wish including the "procrastination" ones, but it was a bit rushed and I could have gone all out in "practice" mode by adding many other QOL features for the player even newbies to learn
  6. Also that suggestion you made, thats what I was going to try and achieve with the play testing easter egg (I would have made it more easier to figure out, if I had time) this does build on my previous answer tho, I appreciate it!
  7. Bananas: I completely agree with your statement ideally I wanted a banana in every stage normal and corrupted, But I just didn't have enough time to design all the levels properly (I can't really keep using this time excuse lol)
  8. Movement: Tbh I really thought my game's movement felt pretty nice and juicy, with instant feedback, but I could totally see how some changes could change how the game is played, and how level design is crafted in the future, so i'm not closed to the idea lol.
  9. Im really glad you liked my art, design and prevention it really means a lot because it means I'm getting better at those things! I've always used other peoples assets before, and I been trying really hard to start making my own so that I don't have to search for the most specific things anymore lol.
  10. The immediate quick respawn was something I learned from games like Celeste, and Geometry dash and I thought it was great so I'm glad I added it here.
  11. This was my first time making a full game in PICO-8 so I did run through a lot of challenges trying to get it to work, hence why I was so rushed trying to finish this (I was still making bug fixed up until the last 5 minutes of submission lol) (And then I found out after I submitted that they extended the time lol, I had already fallen asleep tho)
  12. Final Thoughts: Thank You so much! I am really glad you enjoyed my game enough to play it for so long and leave such a detailed thoughtful review! I will defiantly be making changes and bug fixes based on your and everyone else's comments here so that I can learn how to make a better game for the future. I'm really glad I decided to take part this year it was so fun and helpful! Thank You!

Oh My God! Thank You for just a detailed review! I will reply to it in a different message in a bit because I want to make you I read everything! Thank you!!! <3

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I AM SO GLAD

The puzzles were pretty good they made me ponder lol! This was a pretty well made game Great Job! I enjoyed it a bunch!

This game saved 23.5 orphans burning in a tree! It's absolute peak! I'm so glad I got to experience this wonder!

(1 edit)

It's not on you it's my fault for not having an in-game tutorial, to play the game: When you hit a pink orb or just before you are about to hit a pink orb, you can press X to parry/jump on the pink orb. Like cuphead or gdash. Also thank you!

This idea is quite unique I haven't seem something like this done for the jam yet! The game is a but challenging but still quite fun! I love the art btw! Congrats on the submission its great!

The conversations and observations were really funny! This game is great I love a good narrative story! (floofle! <3)

thank you! And Your right! I was originally considering adding variable jump height but decided against it for this game jam for two reasons 1. This was my first game in pico and i alr had so much on my plate to figure out lol 2. I was really inspired by celeste classic which didnt have variable jump height.

but thank you! I will be sure to keep that in mind next tyme i make another platformer! Im glad you enjoyed :)

Ahh I think i've done a few of them before, thats awesome!! Also tech is usually accidental lol, I rmbr once I was making a small platformer for my friends with a bomb explosion movement mechanic  (You drop a bomb and it explodes boosting you, It was actually really consistent surprisingly) I didn't have a wall jump or climb at the time and was planning on adding it, until I realized you can scale walls by hugging it and spamming the bomb button lol cuz the hitbox would accidentally stick to the wall lol, I kept it made it easier and turned it into a game mechanic, my friends loved it! :)

Yes! I did see the sliding in mid-air brings me down! I didn't try it in my optimizations of each level though because I kept messing up and shooting into a spike lol. And yeah I did notice there was no coyote time either, but tbh I played a lot of rage game platformers who purposely don't include that so it wasn't much of an issue for me lol. What are the other 2 special tech? i'm curious, I may have noticed them but didn't think much of it during my time trials lol. But you did very great on this game its so fun!

Nice I finally won! I love the little alien dudes they're adorable lol! This was a fun puzzle game. It was kinda trippy on the one background that kept spinning back and forth but overall I enjoyed the game a lot. Congrats!

Wow this was very fun, the game is so adorable!! Also the dashes really reminded me of tomb raiders lol. I love this game great job!

Its a cool concept I'm not very good at this game though but I still like what your going for, It kinda like infinite tic tac toe, but Better lol I like the style too! Congratz!

Gotcha thats not something I'm not quite used, so to compromise I will have multiple keybind options next time and that will be one of them. Thank you!

I really took inspiration from celeste classic for this game lol, Aww man im sorry to hear that :( May I ask what you would have preffered so I can keep it in mind for next time?

Thank you so much!
