The sounds were soooo funny I love it!
The gameplay loop and graphics feel great. I liked that you can use the aliens to destroy the planets in later levels (or at least use planets are shield) and that the upgrades change the gameplay a lot.
Was genuinely smiling over the mouth sounds. Fun game that finds it's roots in asteroids. I was brough up on the game subspace/continuum, so this hits home for me. Well done! (add ship classes! this can be such a fun game)
I appreciate the feedback! It's funny; we actually had a completely different concept at first, but when I was working on the character controller, I had a "What if..." moment and really loved it, and now I feel like I should keep working on it lol. Thanks for playing!
From one dev who did mouth sounds to another, i appreciate you! I was laughing so hard the entire time i was playing
I was a little nervous about doing the sound effects so I'm glad you liked them lol. Thanks for playing!
Nikkilite actually took off her headphones and called me over to say, "You gotta hear this!!" so an extra +1 from me!
Gotta love those shooting noises!
Cool concept and well executed, although I would have liked to have just a bit more time overall so I could try out more builds and really get that shonen powerup feel (after severall tries I got to 38 seconds, which feels like not much at all).
Thank you! I felt like the shorter time per round worked well for a jam format, allowing people to give it a couple runs without putting too much time in, and a shorter timer made the theme more apparent, but in a fuller release, the timer would definitely be extended along with more upgrades
Very fun little game, it really pulled me in with the pew pew pew, just an addictive little gameloop trying to outlast the aliens and get stronger!
Thanks! I felt the arcade format was perfect for the theme
The art and audio on this game are so amazing
Thank you!
the pew pew cracked me up! 10/10
Thanks for playing!
This was a ton of fun! The shooting almost sounded like cats after a while. 10/10
No cats were used in the making of this game, lol. Thanks for playing!
The shooting sound is hilarious, and I also like the art style :) Nice game!
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the kind words!
Woah this game is epic! Very addictive and the game loop is super tight! If I had worked on this game (Which I definitely didn't), I would be super proud of it!
audio is peak.
Fun roguelike game I really like how you have to manage either killing enemies or getting more timer.
Thanks for playing!
Dang this is addictive. I think the arcade-style rounds was absolutely the way to go for this, and I LOVE the character controller. Just drifting around felt so good, and it had a high skill ceiling too. The "PEW PEW PEW" is super funny as well. All in all, it's amazing
Thanks for the feedback! I was really happy with how quick a round felt, but you can still get long rounds going if you balance your build.
nice
The game is rather difficult, especially in the beginning, you barely have time to defeat the enemies, which you need to do to increase survivability. Could be a bit more lenient with time and damage in the beginning.
The mouthmade soundeffects are very cute though and the gameplay is fun, ifdifficult.
I appreciate the feedback! We spent quite a bit of time trying to nail down the difficulty. Of course that came with the issue of us playing the game a lot making it a bit easier for us than it would be for a new player. Our goal was to have the average round last around 30 seconds to encourage fast paced gameplay and low friction to replay. I do think there could have been more fuel near by at the start of the game, just to get the ball rolling a bit.
I like the creative homemade sound effects, funny and effective. The how to play section is pretty dense and the font is a little tricky to read. I really appreciated the arrows that pointed me to the next target. The pixel art space background well done. Overall, it was pretty challenging and I wasnt able to survive very long, but nicely done.
It was difficult to balance the pixelated graphics with the readability of menus. The goal was to have a round last about 30 seconds on average to reduce the friction of replays. The fast pace of the game made it a bit more difficult to have a true tutorial, so the how-to-play section was a bit of a compromise for that. The information there can also be found in the description. I really appreciate your time, and thanks for playing
