How does your game fit the theme?
In Hickory, time slows down as the clock counts down and you must complete tasks to prevent the slowing of time. Also, the game takes place in a clocktower!

Even though GMTK doesn't provide an official overall score, most teams put effort into every category. We made this ranking by averaging each game's category scores so everyone can easily compare their overall performance.

ITS LIKE THE AMONG US TASK!

Well polished and well designed game, gorgeous art work and  incredible music, I love navigating to different floors to see what I had to fix, I also enjoyed the behind the scenes bit and the process of making a game with such a big team! I can see how this game scored so highly and have so many rating at the same time, well done!

How come it's not #1 in audio O_o

This is the game I was rooting for. Hoping to see it in top marks.

It's mind-blowing, it feels like a complete game, not a game jam entry

Absolute Game

Are we attend to same jam? It is a honor to being in same jam with this game.

How the hell you were able to do this in 96 hours? How?

Everything about this is so polished! I feel spoiled getting to play this for free.

Perfection.

This is well done! I think its my first 5/5 in all categories and general presentation.

The world building at the start, the little flavor, the nice composition of elements. I love the characters and tiny snippets of personality to each individual. Also screw the rats, never wanted to chase and bash in a while lol.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and the checkpoint system is well integrated. Making failure tolerable and a platform for continuing the battle further. The final boss felt like a nice finale, although I do wish that controlling the board and keeping the region clear of fixes or mouses would have some reward, rather than going for complete focus on the boss and only going through and fixing when time is running out. Mainly as a reward and encouragement for the player's mastery of fixing so far.

The audio is not only good but also dynamic, as it slowing down as the timer reaches 0. I love just the compositions and emotions and movements through the music, and definitely something ill check out again later.

I love the incorporation of the theme in its art, setting, main mechanics, and the timer, it's a countdown to try to get the clock tower as stable as possible after all!

Other than that, there may be a few things that might be adjusted, but they feel like nitpicks (like shading on the pipes type level of adjustments lol).

I've got [46 mins remaining.] but I knew I had to stop by and rate this, thank you for creating such a wonderful piece for the game jam! I'm glad to see this here!

This is one of the best games I've played so far during the game jam, and it's utterly surprising that all of this was done during the short period of time.
All parts of the game was satisfying and loved!

I absolutely loved the game’s art style and presentation. The storytelling, characters, and introduction all feel like they belong in a much larger game.

It’s also very polished and I didn’t come across any bugs or rough edges during my playthrough.

Overall, I think it’s an excellent game!

Great job!

Incredible game! the artwork is gorgeous and the music is incredible!! one of my favourites from this jam

This is a very impressive game, you and your team did a fantastic job on this! The presentation is wonderful (narrative, visuals and audio). If I could ask for one thing, it would be to make the hit box for the rats a little larger so you don’t have to be so close to hit them. Otherwise fantastic polish on a very charming game!

A bit difficult, but this game was really good. Nice work on this thing

I mean there's just nothing to say... this feels like a niche Nintendo DS that you try to recommend to everyone you know (this is the biggest compliment I can give).

This is such an elegant and amazing concept for a mini game collection, the amount of polish is insane.

Kudos to the artists, this game is simply gorgeous and the soundtrack is simply masterful.

I am beyond impressed.

Very pretty, the visuals and audio are extremely well polished.
:)

My only grievances are with some of the mechanics:
1) I did not enjoy the grab and wiggle - it felt very repetitive, and was the most common issue (it also trigger my wrist and should RSI; but that's much more of a "me" thing);
2) I don't think the pipes should have ends that go nowhere - it's confusing, and I had to learn by trial and error what the intended solution was (I also think the straight pipes should go either way);
3) in general, I found the game harder and more punishing than I expected - I'd rather fix everything once (or twice) and move than, rather than wait around, *wishing* for rats to destroy stuff (which I should not be rooting for, narrative-wise) so that I can fix the stuff to add to my count to progress (I also felt like the counts were too high considering how repetitive the minigames were);
4) the rat king is too hard IMO and has too much health - my first attempt dragged on and on, just barely coming back from the brink over and over, before finally losing; on my second attempt, I beat him by using a cheese strategy of hiding behind him and smacking (no recoil back there) while ignoring the damage to the clocktower entirely;
5) when time is up, it should interrupt you immediately in-mini-game - multiple times when I failed, I managed to just solve the puzzle a second or two too late, hear the satisfying success noise, and think "oh, I just made it!" before being disappointed;
6) some sort of ending to the narrative would be good - it doesn't even have to be visual, just a paragraph to say whether or not the clocktower settled down permanently, and to say whether the other dolls got back up or not - what would be enough.

That ALL being said, if the minigames got more tuning/playtesting (and there were more of them), and the narrative was expanded, I would absolutely buy this.
The world you have sucked everyone into is too charming not to.
I want to see more of Hickory and the other dolls - a lot more; and I'm prepared to pay to get it.
