Had trouble flicking the bugs away, similar to what the other commenters said.

The game is technically beatable, but you really have to flick the bugs the moment they enter the screen, otherwise they will be impossible to get rid of once they converge/remain at the center of the screen (where they will keep multiplying due to crumbs often spawning there).

A larger and much stronger "flick" would probably make the game more playable, akin to Fruit Ninja, but the visuals and music provide a nice "pocket arcade" touch to the overall gameplay.

I couln't get it to work, it doesn't recognize my clicks at all :( But nice art

I couldn't quite get the flicking mechanic to work well.  But I like some of the details you added to the game, like the GMTK and expanding end screen UI box.

Yup sadly a great big bug must have somehow weeded itself out of the game and into... well the code which is technically the game but that's not the point! The flicking seems to be messed up due to different monitor resolutions (which I've learned is what happens with Rhythm Heaven on upscaled emulators too!) so anyone without a 1440p monitor like mine should theoretically have a hard time getting the flicking to work.

Thanks for the compliments on those animations though! They aren't the prettiest but I thought they were a nice bit of extra fun to add in nearing the end of the jam. If only I knew those darn bugs were hungry enough to eat up whatever ratings I could have gotten for this jam!

Rlly hard but overall very good. The music is S tier.

Developer

Yes the music was made by https://ddrkirbyisq.bandcamp.com! They've got some really good tracks and are free to use for game jams so I recommend checking them out! (Luckily this jam allows using songs from before the jam, otherwise someone like me with zero music knowledge would be out of luck!

Fun idea, too difficult though :'(

Thanks! A big bug is the meaning for that difficulty, ironic!

Great Game, the controls are a bit irresponsive on mobile but considering it was for PC, it's a nice and unique concept. I liked it :D

Developer

Thanks so much! Yeah I thought maybe it could work on mobile too but I'd definitely have to make a version specific for it so that you can grab the bugs easier on mobile, glad you liked it regardless :)
