I can’t work out how to play. The controls aren’t explained. Keyboard WASD? Mouse click/drag. I’ve tried both and the most I can do is click the copter or person and see their search radius.

So frustrating as I love the concept, how it’s presented, the intro music and the fact that you’ve even got music/SFX settings.

I’ll come back if you can update me on what I’m missing.

OK I got it… by accident. When I click a copter/person it’s not their search radius I see, it’s how far they can move… and I have to do a single click in that radius to get them to move. So… click to select, click destination.

Please add that to the instructions. Might be obvious to you (and some others) but caused me frustration.

I’ve played it a couple of times now. Found the hiker on day 2 and day 5. I really like the concept. Some of the mechanics somehow don’t quite gel for me and some of the UI feedback is unclear, like I saw a fire and footsteps but until I’d found the hiker, it hadn’t been clear what those meant.

I'm aware of all the graphical bugs (such as enlarged search teams and distorted trails) and have made an updated version that I will post after the Game Jam reviewing phase ends.

I can send a link to you directly if you want to try it.

The hiker was found! On the first day. The game has the potential to expand its game mechanics. Good Job!

Creative! I like the idea of reading the hiker's thoughts to figure out where they are, makes it feel more real.

Like other have said, it's way too easy as it is (I ran into a bug where the helicopter "found the hiker" even though it was nowhere near it on the map), but I think the concept has merit. I'd like to see how it plays with a bigger map, some more landmarks, a variety of searching units each with their own specialty (like helicopters are fast but can't see through the tree cover, so you'd use it to rule out large open areas or something).

I like the concept a lot. However, the game was a little too easy for me. Usually, I found the hiker on the first day, and I have yet to take more than two days to find them. I would propose a bigger map with more landmarks. Maybe even procedural generation to up the replay value.

I believe you have a great foundation for a puzzle game that can be expanded a lot moving forward.

you got solid foundation of an engaging game, hope you continue from this

Creative gameplay!  It just needs some polish and juice, visual, interactions, music, and SFX accord with each other, creating a more immersive and enjoyable experience.

Interesting concept, but I tried like 5 or 6 games and always found the hiker on the first day. Perhaps the map is too small?

The small click sound when you press the mouse reminds me of CSI Miami and set the mood though ahah

Got the hiker immediately i think it would be better with a larger forest, and random things happening, but nice take on the theme nonetheless, Nice Job!

I got it on my first try lol. The map could be bigger or the search range could be smaller. Perhaps the map can be randomized as well. Since the hiker moves perhaps you can clarify that the hiker only moves one tile to make the clues more useful. I think this can be developed further into an interesting game.

it's a great idea and well executed other than that the map is so small it's pretty easy

It's a great concept worthy of elaborating upon! The art is simple but wonderful.

The simple and cute art works very well! I like the game loop, it's simple and engaging. Lots of opportunities to expand it

Cool concept, it was fun.

Moving the helicopter to the middle of the map always found the hiker in my testing. Cool concept.

This is a great concept that has a lot of potential, the hiker can be found pretty quick by moving randomly, I think a bigger map might have helped.

This has the bones of something really interesting and unique. It is absolutely an accomplishment, and you should be proud.
