Cool typing game! Too bad I'm hold back by my french nature

w description , we indeed do need to lock in like this  :)

This game in incredibly fun. It reflects exactly what happens in a JAM and how you can be distracted.

It is not really simple to finish the game by a win but I really liked to start and start again to success.

The title screen that is also the tutorial is a really good idea.

Good job!!!

This is exactly what I felt like during this jam ;_;. Pretty fun game!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice game!

Submitted(+1)

fun little meta game and the intro tutorial was very nice! the minigames were a bit repetitive though unfortunately. underscores and capitalization definitely tripped me up haha, out of 3 runs i got to 85% and unfortunately never beat the game :(

Submitted(+1)

This is really polished!
I like the intro tutorial style alot haha

The mini games DO feel a bit generic imo, but theyy ARE still fun
like for the typing game, it doesnt feel very unique.. tho the text is funny
Tho the bigger problem for me was it being case-sensetive :sob: i was confused for a sec as to what i did wrong lmao.. I mean it makes sense.. but id rather like if it wasnt case sensitive

Im not really against the idea of minigames games, but here, the loop of constantly going in and rushing through different games gets broken VERY EASILY by the energy system, which, to fill we need to go to the fridge..

I DO like the idea of cleaning on the way there alot! I wish there was more stuff like that we needed to take care of aside from the game progress. Tbf i do also wish there was a bit more variety in the minigames themselves :P

Tho you already got alot of stuff done, not to mention in even less time than 4 days.. So i cant ask for a whole lot more anyways :P

Other than that.. I do have some more nitpicks >:)
The walk dist btween the fridge and the computer can also get a bit annoying after a while :P
Oh also.. is there no way to restart after you lose? I couldnt retry if there is

Overall, the game do be feeling quite polished, i like the current lot of minigames but i wish there were more, the constant breaking of the loop of playing the minigames and the runback to the fridge CAN get a bit annoying
The visuals were honestly great and also, I like the little interactions you put in for the different stuff around the house. Tho i only got to see that cuz i was wondering if there was a sleep mechanic :P

You could have added that aswell, as u already touched on the idea that yes we need to work hard but that ALSO means take small breaks and take care of your body, i just expected there was some sort of sleep mechanic

Anyways, you still did great! Keep it up :D

Developer

all the interactable things inside the house were actually cut-content! I was on vacation at the time and being constantly on vehicles to travel around does stall the development a bit too much, which leads to many systems being cut.

Yaa i read the part about time restriction and that makes it more respectable how much u got done :)

You did great anyways!

Hehe cute, I do enjoy being a code monkey

Submitted(+1)

I felt the "I don't understand why this code works" comment so hard. I hope no one sees the ugly code I wrote for my game.....

Developer

haha yeah sometimes the code just works out of the blue and we had to pray so that it doesn't cause problems in the future

A bit simple, but still fun. I like it.

I thought I finally finished my game for the jam. why am im making another one???!!! jokes aside, this is a really solid game and very creative idea. Love it, great job!

Lol im surprised I HAVEN'T seen more games about the time crunch of gamejams, this was a really fun and silly experience, I immediately got the cockroach minigame and that made me cackle, i also immediately ate everything from the fridge which prompted 'you are broke' which i loved. and the big red countdown immediately made me scramble to get to work, the typing minigame was pretty good but i would love more silly minigames like the cockroach one, like idk physically debugging your game by smashing it with a hammer xd. overall amazing game :>

I liked the concept of balancing work and health under the time limit. The minigames were fun!

It felt a bit strange tho that this gameplay loop was presented in a kinda jrpg format where I have to walk between 2 locations and ignore everything else in the room. Could be simplified

Developer

there was actually more planned stuff that didn't make it into the final build! The game was supposed to have a 'wave' system and the player would be able to earn things from each win and upgrade stuff like stats, so the room were built like that

Haha i love the idea I feel everyone experienced it. The game feels like  cool to play but some times I didn't get the repsonse I wanted from a mini game but all in all amazing work!

So much fun, relatable and quite a joy to play. I love the typing game so much and the music was very motivating. The interactive tutorial was so clean. A cool entry!

Some Ideas for the future would be, make the jam time multiple days (with sleep time) to just pace the game and add more activities and minigames in. I'm interested to see that!

Love the meta commentary on the jam. Really enjoyable

This is very cool game, I love the gameplay!

i loooooved this experience, very relatable, creative idea, lovely artwork and i loved the audio as it added to the tension in a nice way

Fun minigame collection!

If you had a bit more time to work on it, it would have been interesting to see other aspects of game dev (or specifically game jamming) incorporated. For example, no one in their right mind would stay up the full 96 hours (I hope), so sleep could have been a mechanic to trade time for reduced stamina drain. But what you managed to complete in the time limit is impressive as it is. Great work!
