Very clever concept

I love the meta ideas

Really liked the concept! Although I wish it was a bit longer.

Great submission!

I love the Stimulation Clicker -type concept, and the narrative comes across in a sweet way. The little developers are so cute, and the music is actually a bop. I would have loved to see the game in a more balanced and finished state, but the game itself is a testament to its themes.

Clever concept! Making it literally unplayable after missing the deadline hits the theme hard—even if losing on the first try hurt haha!

I built a fast-paced competitive entry for the jam as well—would love for you to give it a try and share your thoughts!

I liked the games concept, building the game while your playing it is quite interesting and I wish it was worked out a bit more because right now it felt very short. I did run into an issue where I couldn't play the game twice without refreshing the page. It kept putting me back on the ending screen

the idea is great and creative but i think you could've made it a bit longer and added a bit more stuff but still it has a very fun gameplay and a cool idea

The idea behind the game was super creative and it gave your game a great feel to it. I enjoyed seeing the game be built around me over time.

Hey everyone, PedroTheMonk, Game Director here!

Man, Game Jam deadlines can be brutal sometimes HAHAHA

It wasn't quite what we wanted to deliver, but I hope you guys managed to get some good laughs out of the bugs.

This was the very first Game Jam for all of us on the team, and basically the first non-prototype game we've ever published. So, as a way of saying thank you for being a part of this, we wanted to share an unused script with you.

The original idea was to have 4 different endings based on what you did during the game:

Ending 1: Time runs out and the player hasn't bought any upgrades.

Ending 2: Time runs out before the player buys all upgrades (player bought at least 1 upgrade).

Ending 3: Time runs out before the player buys all upgrades AND they didn't recruit ANY employees (player bought at least 1 upgrade).

Ending 4: Time runs out and the player bought all upgrades.

We wanted to give you the freedom to explore different outcomes, including one where you develop the game completely solo, which is the reality for a lot of legends around here.

The true ending, the absolute success one, was split into two parts. I tried to weave a little lesson about time into the game, and I hope it resonates with you:

Ending 1

A more relaxed track plays while the game runs in the background, with the character walking infinitely to the right.

”It looks like you barely made a game, huh?”

”But you played. And that’s what truly matters.”

”Because in a Game Jam, one of the most essential roles…”

”…is simply the people who play, rate and leave feedback for everyone else.”

”Thank you for being a part of this.”

After this, it transitions to the final screen, showing the chat log and a button to return to the main menu.

Ending 2

A laid-back or slightly sentimental track plays while the game runs in the background, showing the progress you made.

”Yeah… Game Jams can be brutal. Time flies and you just can’t do everything.”

”But you know what?”

”As long as it’s fun, that’s what really counts.”

”Plus, the experience you all gained? Nobody can take that away.”

”You gathered quite a crew along the way!”

”And it doesn’t have to end here.”

“This might just be the start of a great team.”

“Great job, team!”

As usual, it transitions to the final chat screen, showing your progress.

Ending 3

A more sentimental track plays while the game runs in the background, showing your progress.

”Yeah… looks like there wasn’t enough time to finish everything.”

”Honestly, it’s almost impossible when you don’t have a team.”

”But that just gives you even more credit.”

”You built a solid game, and all on your own.”

”You pulled off what many full teams fail to do.”

”How about giving a team the privilege of having you next time?”

”Great job, lone wolf!”

Transitions to the final chat screen.

Ending 4

This one is split into two parts. Part 1 has an epic track to give that sense of victory, and Part 2 shifts to a more sentimental track to bring back the reflection from the start of the game.

Part 1:

”You actually did it!”

”You truly beat time itself!”

”Finishing a game in a Game Jam is no easy task…”

”…and man, what an incredible game you made!”

”Don’t let the negative comments get to you.”

”Take what you can to keep improving.”

”All that matters is that you pulled it off.”

”You’re bound to be an amazing team in the future.”

”Maybe even a real studio or company!”

”Great job, team!”

Part 2:

”…”

”What is time?”

”Some say it’s like chains…”

”…holding you back from so many things.”

”Others say it’s terrifying, the only thing unbeatable…”

”But if it were unbeatable, you wouldn’t have won today.”

”Maybe we just look at time all wrong.”

”It’s like seasoning, when you really think about it…”

”It makes everything more special. More intense.”

”Life just wouldn’t have the same flavor without it.”

”We should cherish it while we still have it.”

”Now go out there and make the most of it.”

”Grand Champion!”

And finally, it shows the end screen with the chat.

I poured my soul into writing something meaningful for you all, and even though we couldn't get it into the game in time, I really hope you enjoy reading it.

A huge thank you to the team and especially to the players for all your patience!

I can really identify myself with the white cube.
but i got a bit overwhelmed with the amount of projectiles coming at me.

(and it finishes instantly, if I want to play again)
but good effort
