How does your game fit the theme?
A Count who was hired by villagers to protect them until sunrise (time counting down). But can he do it as his sanity counts down being tempted by all these delicious villagers? The COUNT must not let the villagers DOWN! :))

Simple concept but very fun game, art work and gameplay are very polished. Was satisfying to switch between forms to manage movement and damage in the best way. Only bug that I encountered was the Count would move on his own sometimes but other than that ran very smooth and worked how expected. The rage mechanic that could be a detriment or used to your advantage was very fun. I didn't realize at first that you could use right click to grab and consume enemies but once I realized I enjoyed using that ability a lot. If I had to add something a warning indicating villagers that are under attack or houses being destroyed would help with managing the villagers. Your most polished entry yet!

what a cute game! the art style is super cute and i love the premise of the count protecting the villagers instead of hunting them. my main suggestion is maybe there could be a direction indicator when a house is getting attacked? but otherwise super fun game!

This dude really seems like someone you could count on. Nice game! Great art!

It’s very fun, I love the music and art, but idk why, while playing I had IMMENSE lag, especially in level one after the clock went past the moon icon.  Not a lag-spike but just constant lag. It made it difficult to play but it was still fun despite that!

Developer(+1)

That sucks, sorry about that. We never encountered any lag in all of our tests so something really weird must have happened. Glad you liked it though!

Loved it. Seemingly difficult but made it rewarding. Music was great, loved the sound effects but they could be a bit more juicy. Countdown of sanity was a creative twist and made the game fun and interactive

Developer

Tuning the difficulty was quite the challenge, ironically. We tuned it down a bit right before we submitted, which I'm glad we did because it definitely would have been too hard. Thanks for the kind words and suggestions!

Very good game !!! I think the difficulty was stressful but not impossible, which made it really fun and forced you to engage with the mechanics. Its an incredibly creative take on the theme, and I liked it a lot! very impressive.

Developer

Your point about being forced to engage with the mechanics is great to hear. It seems like we may have got the difficulty just about right. Thanks for playing and thank you for the kind feedback!

The game art, sfx, music were terrific. The hook and loop were good enough but the juice and the characters made it more fun than it would seem at first. The Count idea just works. Really cool entry. Real talented.

Really striking art style! It reminds me a lot of the old Invader Zim animation.

Developer(+1)

Haha I'm so glad you noticed! I thought the same thing when I was designing him! Thanks for the compliment and for playing!

I love the music! Really good game. I like how you can transfrorm into different creatures which all have different abilities :)

Submitted(+2)

Really cool idea and music is banger!

Really nice interpretation of the theme! Solid game with good art direction and music. Would have like it if there was some visual indication for the remaining HP of the houses but that's really minor.

Developer

For sure there's some QoL changes we would've liked to make, that being a really good one I didn't consider. Hope you had fun regardless!

I like the music! and the punny theme interpretation. nicely done.

Love the music, the art and visuals were crisp, and the game loop solid! I turned into a werewolf and raged. Good times!

Submitted(+2)

Music is AWESOME. Love the scribblenauts artstyle and it was funny cause every level I had one house standing yet I saved the town LOL.

Submitted(+2)

Yo this music is a BOP. Best music in the whole jam

Submitted(+2)

Nice use of animations, and nice art style

Cool idea! I love the use of different forms to switch up the gameplay

Submitted(+3)

I'm not sure I really saved the town after killing half the villagers and losing all houses but... a fun concept~

These graphics are fantastic! If I may offer a suggestion, make the sanity higher, I felt like I could barely use werewolf and bat mode for fear of running out haha. Great submission!

Developer

Yeah, the sanity timer may have been a bit low. We definitely encountered some situations where we were functionally locked into 'insane' mode. I wanted to rework the damage system to be a little more forgiving and fix that, alas, we ran out of time.
