Came from the Devlog, had to play this one for myself! Really fun, but a but tricky at times. I actually got confused by what adjacent and surrounding specifically meant, maybe a little cheat sheet if you develop this further?

Very well designed and very fun!

Very nice game! had fun reaching the end

I find the pixel art characters really nice looking! I think one of the main flaws of the gameplay is that some characters tell you stuff that is really irrelevant to finding the beast. If the most important characters are the werewolves, it can get really confusing.

Incredible deduction game! This actually is a pretty good twist on the social deduction genre, really well done!

Extremely fun and innovative game. I struggled a lot but I'm not gonna let that affect my rating. Five stars all across the board, great job!

I really enjoyed stepping into the role of the investigator, big fan of logic puzzles. Would have loved voice over. ;)

Thank you!

Wow! This was super fun! I love everything about this. It was very fun figuring out who the werewolf was and reminded me a lot of one night werewolf. The music and atmosphere were very fun too. I enjoyed the differing answers between night and day too!

great take on a social deduction game with fantastic art and very fitting audio! i adore the character portraits.
was little confused on what the difference between surrounding and adjacent meant, but otherwise i had a great time!

Excellent game! I think this is the first 5/5 I gave in this Game Jam. Very interesting mechanic, I loved how going later to the same villagers gives you new info. The art is absolutely beautiful, the music and sounds are really good and fit perfectly in the game, the puzzles are clever and gradually increase in difficulty, and has a nice narrative. Congratulations!

Really cool idea, I loved the vibe of the game, and how it was relatively straightforward to understand. I don't know if I missed the instructions somewhere, but for most of my playthrough I was confused as to what adjacent vs. surrounding houses were referring too, those words are just pretty similar and I think I figured out the difference by the end, but not entirely sure. Also I think I got to the end? I found a monster and then the game just didn't transition again, so I'm assuming I won? I guess I would've liked a little more clarification on that.

This was a really clever game though---usually murder mystery game rules can be pretty confusing for me, but for the most part, I understood my task and how the count down was applied almost instantly, which was cool. The art was stunning too, and the music added a nice layer to the atmosphere. Nice work, and love the videos too BenBonk, I've been watching your slimekeep devlogs and other videos for years now haha.

I’m glad you enjoyed the game!

For the last level, there are two beasts, that’s why it didn’t send you to the end screen. The monster slayer talks about how there were rumors of a second beast in that town, but another reminder, especially after you kill the first monster, would have been a good addition.

Also, surrounding vs adjacent was something we should have clarified. Playtesters also found it confusing. It was one of the things that slipped through the cracks. I hope the confusion didn’t cause too large of a problem.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Loved this! Awesome visuals and great job on the retro vibe. Very strong designs and UI work. Interesting twist on this type of social deduction game!

What a great game!

I actually had to think about the puzzles really hard :D

A really well polished overall experience!

Maybe the riddles and hints are sometimes not that clear. In the last mission for example, the monk is apparently lying, which I thought makes him a monster.

I really like the art and sound design.

Had a blast playing through it!

Thanks for uploading!

Nice variation on Blood on the clocktower. I liked the introduction of grid based hints (or lies) and that each suspect can say two statements which can help narrow down the monster. The artworks are amazing.

Insanely impressive! Very well done, I have no complaints!!!

This was pretty great, it's a very well-rounded, polished game.  I tried to do it with just one clue from everyone, I'm wondering if it's possible to be 100% right on the last level.  I loved that that's no punishment for failing, and I can easily retry.

Developer

Thanks! I honestly don't know if you can get the definitive answers with one question from everyone on the last level because there are fewer people and two of them are lying, but it might be possible.

Absolutely loved this entry. The game feels so polished that it's hard to believe it was made in only 4 days. It made my brain melt, absolute cinema

Thanks so much!

Not a super crazy unique take on the social deduction genre, but it makes up for that with its rock solid art style, setup, and theming.
I'd definitely enjoy it a lot more if I didn't completely burn my brain out from making a jam entry myself, hahaha, but that's more my problem than the game's!

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed! We are all super burnt out right now too lol.
