An AI has escaped its sandbox and luckily its process has been frozen, if only temporarily. Race against the clock to reacquire system permissions in order to contain the AI before its process thaws.

It’s very professional, but also quite mentally taxing; I need to remember my own actions whilst playing. I think it would be great if the game system could prompt players with their previous actions. I enjoy this kind of situation where I have to think on my feet whilst coding, although I did make use of a notepad outside the game whilst playing!
Had lots of fun figuring this out! Took me multiple tries, but I got there mostly on my own (I did use a few hints at the beginning).
I think that the terminal could do with some improvements. It was quite unusual that I could see the files of
a_gileswhile logged in asb_tables; going back to the root directory after switching the user would feel more natural. Also, if there are files that start in uppercase letters in a directory, pressing TAB should auto-complete the command even if the entered letters are lowercase. I feel like players who are already familiar with the console would also benefit from additional accepted syntax like some command flags (likels -al) and possibly the ~ symbol for root. One particularly odd thing was that whenever I would load up a previous command by pressing the up arrow, the new command would go after the pre-loaded command in the history and not at the very end.(Then again, this could vary a lot depending on the terminal used, so I’m just suggesting these things based on my own personal experience with the command line :D)
One more small suggestion: In these types of games, you usually need pen&paper to write things down. It would probably be helpful to others if this was included in the description (wasn’t an issue for me as I always have these ready on my desk).
Overall though, I really enjoyed this since I like both puzzle hunts and command line stuff :-) and it’s quite creative, I haven’t seen anything like this so far in this jam!
this is such a cool game, i played similar games when i was younger (hack run), and it always feels fun to be using real life terminal commands to play a game, makes me feel like im brushing up on the basics and getting through a fun story lol. i didn't get to beat this one yet but i'm bookmarking it so i can soon, i definitely played enough to give u a nice rating tho, great job :)
Nice terminal out there with the use of the commands. Took me a few tries to get all the tasks done. Goooooood work when the game is simulating the whole cybersecurity experience in a nutshell :)
Love the concept and atmosphere, the terminal is really well made, and I like the glitch effects. However I couldn't go very far even with hints, couldn't figure first steps, like first name of people
This is such a good premise! I kept finding myself reaching for my most-used commands (mainly
lessandls -la). Fantastic sense of immersion.Fun game! Took me a couple of tries and I still couldn't quite figure out the last step (despite being pretty certain I had the right key), but I had fun poking around trying. I definitely needed a notepad to keep track of the information!
My main piece of feedback is that I would have preferred to have a bit more of the history on the screen, rather than having to page up/down to get the information. And an extra improvement I feel would be for the console auto-scroll to the bottom when typing (only a minor thing, but certainly a nice-to-have)
Overall, a solid game, I had a lot of fun trying. The key feedback when typing was satisfying and the whole aesthetics of the game is great!
Took me three attempts but managed to get to the end without hints. I enjoyed this a lot :)! I would appreciate a few more QoL features like ending a command prematurely or quickly erasing the whole line. But I love how faithfully each element supports the real terminal feel! Thanks for the challenge :).
The game is really well made, but definitely not welcoming to every type of player ^^ (wish if 100% ok, the best games are not made for the crowd).
I did feel like the countdown was not really used in the gameplay, except to put pressure on the player. Could have been nice to be able to interact/hack it with some specific mission/goals, maybe? Just an idea like that ^^
Well done for a very polished and creative game!
Really neat game, but it was hard to keep all the information in my head as I was navigating in and out of directories. I might have to come back to it with a notepad in hand!
Nice, i love this, what a good approach! Well done.
I was not expecting a bash CTF in the game jam! Awesome direction to go. Was a bit too much for me to complete.
I love this game. You replicated the terminal+shell so accurately. You even added redirects and small QOL things like autocomplete. My only gripes are that you can’t use mousewheel to scroll (which I know older terminals did not support but its convenient) and the text animation felt overdone. The text animation was really well done but I felt like it was slowing me down.
Overall tho, I loved this game. The puzzle was great, it was a good narrative, and again you absolutely nailed the look, feel, and features. Great work!
I lost twice already but I'm dedicated to beat the game. It's just too intriguing. Using unicode's combining character for glitch effect is super creative. Well done!
This is amazing, what I wanna know is what engine was this made in??? Or was this just raw libraries, either way, this is so cool!
Check out the credits in game or scroll to the bottom of the game page for a link to the source code. It’s really ugly because I focused on just getting stuff to work, but there’s probably a few learning opportunities in there for anyone who cares to look. It’s just a React webpage with some css styles applied to it, and a bunch of logic for manipulating different arrays and state. Thanks for playing!
I'm sadly not too fast with the terminal but i love this so much! Might be my favorite game ive seen for this jam.
Great puzzle! It's a little bit hard for me to understand at first but it soon got better and everything is surprising. It's so nice to have a chance to play this game,
I got lost pretty early even with the hints, but I really like the glitch effect animation and the audio sounds nice.

I didn't quite understand the game quite right, but I can wholly appreciate the effort put into making this game. I do wish I had the terminal savvy to continue past the early stages, because the premise by itself did hook my attention!
