I was NOT about to read that novel on the first screen so I had to make a lot of guesses on how things worked but it was pretty silly once I figured it out. Wendy's Simulator.
It was a lot of writing but I needed to make sure everyone knew what to do if they wanted to play without guessing.
BEST 3D GAME!
Thank you.
Way too strict and too difficult, needs more time in the oven (pun intended). Pun intended again.
I should be able to grill whatever I want (it only lets me grill the the patty), even if it's wrong to grill tomato, lettuce or cheese. Not sure about fast food joints, but craft burger puns are grilled too, that should be considered as just wasted time, not sackable offence. It should just sack me sooner, the more wrong I get the orders, not every mistake should have the same penalty.
And what's up with the countdown, it fits the theme, but it's way too little for someone who plays the game first time. I couldn't even prepare some common burgers orders because they ordered random stuff and had already lost their temper by that time, make waiting for order to be taken and waiting for order to be filled separate countdowns. Seat service? What kind of fast food joint is that?
The grill limitation was a design choice to keep the difficulty manageable. In most cooking games, only patties are grilled, requiring players to toast buns or grill other toppings would make later levels (especially with multi-patty orders) practically impossible. On top of that, building a full cooking system for every ingredient just wasn't feasible within the 4-day jam timeframe.
For the timer, the countdown is actually running at half-speed, giving you 2 full minutes per order instead of 60 seconds. In testing, this ended up being plenty of time to complete orders by my playtesters.
As for the seat service, it was simply the most practical approach for a 4-day jam. A standard line system requires complex pathfinding and spatial awareness for every customer, which would have been a huge performance hit and too risky to implement on such a tight deadline.
Thanks for playing and leaving feedback.

Very easy and fun game loop.
Very nice. Not the most creative, but its really really fun. The game loop is so fun. Graphics & sound are also really good.
