im living off of coffee now

I'm usually at that  level too unless I consciously try to sleep more.
I was doing way worse at the beginning because I took the mattress from the bedframe upstairs... later I realized that halves how efficiently you recover stamina
Buy a coffee machine and a bag of coffee to brew it yourself

yeah im crying how much more sleep i get when the mattress is on the bedframe, i had it on the floor under the computer

A few tips. First, if you really hate nightmares, you can just turn them off in settings in 0.9.

Second, most nightmares are "winnable" and if you do them correctly, they can give you some really good benefits, like 100+ hunger or stamina. Don't have to sleep if you win a nightmare and basically get a second-wind, allowing you to get even more work done before the end of the week for a nice, juicy weekly bonus, which helps your progression.

I never saw anything on the wiki about this, but does coffee have a minor secondary effect if you drink too much of it? My vision started getting really shaky at some point, and the only way to fix it was sleep. lol

Yea eventually you'll fall over from exhaustion if you stay up too long drinking coffee.
I think you're more likely to get nightmares too, if you keep yourself awake for too long, but not 100% sure just something I felt like was happening in my playthrough.

...What's the shaking coming from then? I figured it was the coffee or something? Or is Kel just a wimp and everything is scaring him? xD

It is from the coffee, unless you activated the red guy that haunts you, that will also cause mouse shaking. But it is most likely coffee.

To reduce the frequency of nightmares, you can drink some coffee and go to bed. As far as I can remember, the more alert you are when trying to fall asleep, the less likely you are to have a nightmare. It also depends on how long you sleep, so sometimes you need to wake up. I follow this routine when sleeping:

1. Coffee until 50

2. Toilet

3. Sleep until 74

4. Toilet

5. Sleep from 79 to 100

6. And go to the toilet again
